Chapter 12 Meeting Warren Again
Ella couldn't stop talking about money.
Travis, meanwhile, stood silently by.
'If Luna didn't involve my interests, I couldn't care less.'he thought.
Luna had no choice but to settle Eric here at that time. At least Ella could call her immediately if something happened.
Now it seemed like it was time for them to leave.
Over the past four years, she had given Ella more than enough money and owed her nothing.
But she wouldn't tell Ella at this moment. Knowing Ella well after all these years, she was certain that if Ella found out beforehand, she would surely act impulsively.
Luna turned around and went back to her room to pack. Seeing that she was silent, Ella thought she had been persuaded.
"Luna, don't you get paid on the 15th? It's already the 16th today. Remember to transfer the money to me. Don't forget that."
Luna didn't respond and continued to tidy up the table. But she found that the chocolate she bought for Eric last week was down to just one piece.
She always bought a month's supply, and Eric was very disciplined, eating only one piece a day. It was impossible for it to be gone.
Seeing her staring at the chocolate, Ella felt guilty and cleared her throat, "Eric ate all the chocolate. Since he's sick, he forgets even if he eats it himself."
Luna put the last piece of chocolate into Eric's backpack and closed the door.
She was even more determined to take Eric away from here!
'Chocolate was Eric's obsession, one piece a day, only one brand, and he would never eat more. But it often ran out before the end of the month. If it wasn't Ella who took it, then who?'Luna thought.
She was already giving her $3,000 a month. She and Eric lived in a bedroom converted from a balcony, only 75 square feet, with two single beds almost filling the space.
Eric's monthly food expenses were at most $500, but Ella often made special meals for her cousin only, not considering Eric. If Eric wanted to eat something, Luna had to take him out.
If she bought food home, Ella usually made just a little, saying the rest were for Eric the next day. But by the time Luna went to work, Eric couldn't get any.
Luna didn't sleep all night. Early the next morning, after Ella's family went to work or to buy groceries, she packed her and Eric's luggage and woke Eric up. Then they left Ella's house.
By the roadside, fifteen-year-old Eric sat in a wheelchair, quietly watching the road across, occasionally glancing at Luna.
Passersby couldn't help but take a second look at Eric, praising how delicate the boy looked, even more beautiful than a girl.
Few could tell that Eric was a Williams syndrome patient.
He had a delicate face, looking as if he wore exquisite makeup, but his body was underdeveloped, with skeletal and internal organ abnormalities, and mild intellectual disability.
Luna stood by the roadside , dialing Charles's number. But she was still blocked.
She wanted to talk to Charles, to see if he would consider living together, and if she could have a room for Eric at Charles's house.
But her number was still blocked.
At that moment, a convoy of Rolls-Royces passed by, followed by four business cars.
Inside the car, Charles was reading a document when his assistant, Max , suddenly pointed out the window, "Mr. Lee, that's Ms. Brown"
Charles frowned and looked out the window.
It was indeed Luna, and beside her was a boy in a wheelchair.
According to the butler's investigation, she was living at Ella's house, paying $3,000 a month in living expenses.
When Charles saw the luggage beside her , he thought,' Was she kicked out?'
