Chapter 171 Going All the Way

Luna couldn't figure out why Charles was mad again. Eric, munching on half a sandwich, sensed the tension and looked at Charles with innocent eyes.

Charles noticed their reactions and realized he was being too harsh. His expression softened a bit, but his eyes stayed cold.

He explained, "I have a friend in the media. He heard that the streamer is hiring online trolls to spread rumors about you living with a thug who indulges in all sorts of vices."

Luna was stunned. "They still won't give up? It's their fault. Can't they just apologize? They try to cure chaos with chaos."

She thought they should face the consequences of their actions.

"I've already told some media friends. They won't find out my identity quickly or think we got the wrong marriage certificate. My friends are gathering evidence against those online trolls, so those posts won't appear online."

"But they won't stop. Why not post the marriage certificate? You don't need to show my name, and they won't dig up anything. But this means you can't keep the marriage a secret." Charles suggested a permanent solution, feeling a bit happy about it.

Once it was public, no one could covet Luna anymore. A month later, he and Luna would have endless possibilities.

"If you don't post it, they'll keep using this against you. It's hard to guard against."

Luna agreed. Exposing the marriage certificate was no big deal. She was really married, after all.

"I'll handle this. I can't let you do everything; it makes me look useless."

Charles was decisive. Once he said something, he meant it. He got up, washed his hands, and grabbed his coat, ready to talk to Max Carter in person.

Luna walked him to the door. Charles reached for his coat behind her, and she thought he was going for a hug, so she dodged.

Last time she didn't dodge, but this time she wasn't going to let him get away with it.

After dodging, she realized he was just getting his coat. She felt awkward and didn't know how to ease the embarrassment.

Charles was a bit surprised. Luna was more closed off in relationships than he thought. He figured it would be hard for her to fully open up.

"I'll edit a Facebook post later, showing the marriage certificate and registration date. I'll blur out the photo and name, just saying you're an ordinary employee. Once they see I'm willing to post the marriage certificate, they won't continue this act."

Luna was about to say something, but Charles was quicker.

"Don't worry! My friend investigating is legit and won't break the law. Officer Brown."

Charles pinched Luna's nose, a gesture both intimate and teasing. Her nose was delicate and small, complementing her bright eyes.

'Not worse than a hug,' he thought. Next time, he might try pinching her cheek.

Luna was dumbfounded. By the time she reacted, Charles had already left, giving her a triumphant smile.

She couldn't believe it. She dodged the hug but couldn't escape Charles' new trick?

That damn Charles! He did it on purpose!

'Next time, if Charles tries any tricks, I'll break his hand,' Luna thought.

At the Lee family's villa, Ashley saw Anna coming and felt a strange sense of repulsion instead of the usual expectation and fondness.
