Chapter 235 So Rude
Hearing Mike's words, Charles's face darkened.
Did Evelyn really have to show up when he and Luna were having their time together?
"Try to stall her as much as you can," Charles ordered coldly.
"Yes, Mr. Lee."
After hanging up, Mike pretended to walk too fast and bumped into Evelyn from behind.
He quickly said sorry but didn't stop and kept walking away.
Evelyn recognized him, even though he was wearing a hat and mask now. She had to be careful not to let Evelyn recognize him, or else Evelyn would know Mr. Lee was nearby.
Evelyn was stunned by the collision and fell to the ground.
Before she could see who had knocked her over, the person had already run away.
Although he said sorry, he should at least have helped her up.
"Ms. Neleson, are you alright?"
The lobby manager recognized Evelyn and hurried over to help her up.
"So rude!"
Evelyn shouted in the direction Mike had left.
Mike had already disappeared.
"I'm fine, you don't need to worry about me. I'm here to meet a friend."
Evelyn waved her hand at the lobby manager. She had nothing to do after getting her hair done and didn't want to go home. Knowing that Luna was having dinner with her husband here tonight, she decided to come and see Luna.
Who knew she would be knocked over as soon as she entered the lobby?
At this moment, Luna was returning to the restaurant with a glass of juice, and Charles had just hung up the phone.
"Luna, there's a document from my company that I need to send, but my computer is at home, so I..."
"Then let's go back now. I'm full anyway."
Luna didn't want to delay Charles's work, so she drank a few sips of juice and got ready to leave.
Just as Charles was about to breathe a sigh of relief, Luna's phone rang.
"Evelyn, what? You're in the lobby? You got knocked over? Are you alright? I'm at the second-floor buffet, about to leave. Okay, I'll come down to find you. My husband is here too."
The call was from Evelyn. As soon as Luna spoke, Charles's nerves tightened again.
He had never seen anyone as persistent as Evelyn; he ran into her everywhere.
"Luna, my stomach feels a bit uncomfortable. I'm going to the restroom. You can meet me in the parking lot later. Sorry, I can't accompany you to meet your friend."
There was no way Charles could go down with Luna to see Evelyn; that would blow everything.
Luna didn't think much of it and nodded before going downstairs to see Evelyn.
Charles went into the restroom at the entrance and stayed there for a while. When the bodyguard informed him that Evelyn and Luna were still chatting in the lobby, Charles quickly left the restroom and took the elevator to the parking lot to get the car.
Meanwhile, another elevator door opened, and Bobby and a client walked out.
The client glanced at the back of Charles, who was hurrying into the adjacent elevator, and said thoughtfully, "Why does he look so much like Mr. Lee?"
Bobby was first taken aback, then excitedly asked, "Are you talking about Mr. Lee from the Lee Group?"
The client tilted his head and thought for a moment, "I'm not sure. I only saw Mr. Lee from a distance once last year and am not familiar with him. Mr. Lee is very low-key; there aren't even any photos of him online, and he rarely attends events."
Bobby, thinking he was clever, said, "But this is the Maple Leaf Manor Hotel, owned by the Neleson family. Mr. Lee has always rejected the Neleson family's daughter's advances. Why would he be here?"
The client thought that made sense.
"Maybe I was mistaken."
Bobby withdrew his gaze, feeling a bit regretful. If he could connect with Mr. Lee from the Lee Group, he would truly be on the rise.
In the parking lot, Luna found Charles's car. She opened the door and looked at him with a smile.
"Mr. Lee, do you mind giving my friend a ride? She's a real beauty."
Luna said this while deliberately looking behind her.
Hearing this, Charles stiffened completely.
He instinctively slouched down, afraid that others would see his face.
For the first time, he wanted to hide his face.
