Chapter 161 If You Want to Laugh, Just Laugh
Charles blurted out, "What the hell?"
They both burst into laughter.
Luna had cursed, and Charles was the target, but instead of a fight, they found it funny.
"Did you misunderstand me again? I meant, do you need help opening the bathroom door?"
Charles's smile was distinct, carrying a restrained charm. It brought an unexpected warmth to Luna in the morning light.
Luna never expected anything more between them; they were already navigating life together.
Luna opened the door herself and said softly, "I don't need feet to open the door."
Charles went silent.
When Luna came out, Charles had a bowl of oatmeal and a veggie wrap.
"I ordered takeout. Eat up. There are clean clothes too."
He handed her a paper bag.
Luna sat down to eat, feeling like it was the best breakfast ever.
"This veggie wrap is amazing, and the oatmeal is perfect."
She noticed the HarmonyHaven Hotel logo on the bag.
No wonder!
"You're really going all out by ordering breakfast from HarmonyHaven Hotel. There are plenty of places across from the hospital." Luna remarked as she smiled at Charles.
"I need to eat too, and I never skimp on breakfast. But your homemade breakfast was good too."
Charles's tone was awkward, but he appreciated Luna.
Luna was modest. "My cooking is just homey, not like HarmonyHaven's chefs. If you like it, I can keep making it."
"Okay. About before... I'm sorry." Charles suddenly apologized.
Luna, sipping oatmeal, spat it out in surprise, half of it landing on Charles's face.
"You... could you warn me next time you apologize? You scared me!"
For someone as reserved as Charles to apologize, it was shocking.
Charles stood still, staring at Luna, his face covered in oatmeal.
His usual cleanliness compulsion told him to react, but he waited for Luna to wipe his face.
Many of his firsts were because of Luna. Though some were difficult for him to accept, each one ultimately gave him new perspectives.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to."
Seeing him frozen, Luna stifled her laughter and grabbed tissues to wipe his face.
Even messy, Charles was still handsome.
Luna gently wiped his face, struggling not to laugh.
"I'll do it myself." Charles grabbed tissues.
Staring at Luna, his face darkened. "If you want to laugh, just laugh! Don't blame me if you hurt yourself holding it in."
"Hahaha!" Luna finally burst into laughter.
Seeing Charles in a tough spot was so satisfying!
She's really laughing? And so loudly! If he had known, he wouldn't have bothered with her! He should have let Warren stay and take care of her! See if she could still eat the breakfast from HarmonyHaven Hotel then!
Warren suddenly sneezed that morning.
