Chapter 87 Are You Crazy?
When Wendy finished talking, she shot Emily a smug look.
David, sitting next to her, snorted. "The moment I saw that Luna, I knew I didn't like her! She drags her little brother around and still tries to stand up for others. In the dating world, she's at the bottom of the barrel! No one would want her, even if she were free!"
"What's she got besides a decent job? Just her looks? She seems like someone who's all about vanity. She's destined to be a homewrecker!"
David and Wendy exchanged a triumphant glance, both smiling.
Emily put down her utensils, stood up, and took her son to their room.
Seeing this, Bobby and his parents thought she was upset but couldn't argue back, so she retreated to her room.
The three of them exchanged a pleased look.
Bobby picked up a piece of pork rib, eating it with relish, feeling smug for upsetting Emily.
"Dad, Mom, Luna wasn't decent even in college! She claimed she was busy working, doing three jobs a day to support her younger brother. I bet she was doing something shady! How else could a college student make $1,500 a month?"
Bobby was repeating what Emily had told him when they were dating.
But what Emily had actually said was that Luna did several part-time jobs. Because the school often had lockdown drills, Luna didn't have many opportunities for part-time work. Many of the jobs were introduced to her by Summer, including translation work, organizing files, and mostly handicraft work like weaving.
Wendy remarked, "She must have been a prostitute! That kind of money is easy to make! She just lies there with her legs spread and earns it!"
Wendy had always been jealous of young and pretty girls. When she saw someone good-looking, she suspected they had plastic surgery. When she saw someone wearing a tank top and short skirt, she said they dressed that way to seduce men, and if they got harassed, they deserved it. If a woman greeted David, Wendy suspected she wanted to take her place. She had no empathy and was extremely bitter and jealous.
After gently putting her son down and closing the door, Emily walked back to the dining table with large strides, giving Bobby a chilling smile.
Before Bobby could react, Emily picked up the remaining half-plate of salad and dumped it all over Bobby's face.
"Emily! Are you crazy?" Wendy screamed and jumped up.
Just as she was about to step forward, Emily flipped the table over. The solid wood table flipped entirely onto the floor. None of the dishes on the table were spared. Plates, bowls, and spoons shattered into pieces.
"Emily! Are you looking for a beating?" Bobby had only taken two bites before it was all gone, and he was covered in food, furious and ready to fight. His parents were no better off, covered in food scraps, rolling up their sleeves to join in.
Bobby's face turned dark, and he habitually raised his hand, but before he could bring it down, Emily pulled out a fruit knife.
"Bobby, think carefully! Either you beat me to death, or you never sleep again!"
She pointed the knife at Bobby, who was so scared he didn't dare make a sound. The image of Emily pinning him down and slapping him last time was still fresh in his mind, and he absolutely believed she could do it.
Bobby's parents, seeing the mess, didn't dare say a word. Even without the knife, Emily's current demeanor scared them. They felt that if she went all out, she could take down their entire family.
