Chapter 110 Playing the Long Game
Anna got dressed and grabbed her phone to check her latest post.
Seeing it had over ten thousand views, she felt a rush of satisfaction.
Her secondary account was all about showcasing a luxurious lifestyle—high-end restaurants, designer clothes, and fancy bags.
But she was smart; she never showed her face, just side profiles or back views.
This account was her bait to attract rich men. If she found the right one, she could settle down quickly.
Not showing her face was a precaution. If she met other potential prospects, she could keep her identity hidden.
Once, she stumbled upon Ashley having a heart attack on the street. At first, she didn't want to help a stranger. But then she noticed Ashley's watch, a mischievous urge stirred within her.
It was an antique, seemingly ordinary but incredibly valuable.
If it was real, it could be worth millions.
Anna was well-versed in brands and antiques. She knew the truly wealthy preferred low-key, antique accessories.
People flaunting logos were either new money or wearing fakes.
So, she played the Good Samaritan, called a car for Ashley, took her to the hospital, and stayed until her family arrived. She even "accidentally" left her phone behind to keep in touch.
It turned out that her instincts were spot on.
Ashley kept saying her family wasn't rich, but she lived in a suburban villa, owned city properties and shops, and her visiting relatives were well-dressed. They were clearly not ordinary folks.
It's a shame Anna didn't see their cars.
When Ashley was hospitalized, the hospital director brought in a team of specialists, making quite a scene.
Anna tried to get info from the director, but he was tight-lipped. His secrecy only convinced her more that the Lee family was a big deal.
She found excuses to visit Ashley and discovered two limited-edition sports cars in the Lee family's garage.
Anna speculated they might be related to the Lee Group. If so, they were set for life.
At first, she thought Ashley was Charlie's mom, but later learned her son was named Charles, which was a bit disappointing.
Even if the Lee family wasn't top-tier, they were still notable middle class.
As the saying goes, 'Great trees are good for nothing but shade!' If Charles had any connection to Charlie, shecould get a piece of the Lee Group's wealth.
Ashley was simple and kind-hearted. Marrying into her family would give Anna a chance to enter the Lee Group, making it easier to find a higher stepping stone.
So when Ashley offered her fifty thousand dollars as a reward, she refused.
Not every family could just hand over fifty thousand dollars!
She wanted to play the long game! She wanted Charles as her platform!
Anna fiddled with her phone and saw comments cursing Luna, which reassured her.
This secondary account had seventy to eighty thousand followers, all admiring and envying her.
To them, she was a rich heiress, at least the only daughter of a middle-class family.
She didn't worry about making a living and was kind and simple, occasionally feeding stray cats and giving clothes and food to the homeless.
"Anna, you must have been wronged! You're so kind and simple. How could you be a match for that two-faced bitch!"
"Anna, you're too easy to bully! If I were there, I'd slap her."
"Anna, we'll help you share this! Let everyone know about this Ms. Brown!"
"Anna, don't be upset! I sent you a tip! Use it to buy some candy!"
Anna snorted at the tip amount.
She teased, "Poor thing! How dare you send just ten dollars?"
