Chapter 177 Is Bobby Abusing You Too?

At lunchtime, Luna turned down Warren's invite to eat together. She just grabbed her phone and slipped out the side door. As she rounded the corner, she saw a group rushing toward her.

Her face darkened when she saw who it was.

Leading the pack was her grandmother—Alice, with Ella and Wendy trailing behind.

"Luna, I've missed you so much. Finally, I get to see you, my dear granddaughter. You've lost weight," Alice cried, putting on a show and trying to grab Luna's hand, but Luna dodged.

Wendy started lecturing Luna. "Luna, how can you treat Alice like this? She's elderly and sick. She came all this way to see you and even brought your favorite fruits. Have some conscience! How can you break an elderly person's heart?"

"All the issues between you and your family are misunderstandings. They might've messed up before, but everyone makes mistakes sometimes. They were just worried about you and didn't want you to get hurt. It was all for your own good!"

"They're your elders. Even if they make mistakes, it's not a big deal. Can you really hold a grudge?"

Wendy, who couldn't find Luna last night, was determined to make a good impression today.

Luna knew Wendy had brought them here. Since Wendy couldn't invite Luna to her place yesterday, Wendy was desperate to explain herself, so she brought Alice and Ella to corner her.

"Wendy, is Bobby abusing you too? Has he beaten you so badly that you've lost your senses? Why are you so out of touch with reality, meddling in other people's business?"

"I still have the video of Bobby abusing Emily! Should I post it online for all his colleagues to see? If you don't want Bobby's dirty laundry aired and him losing his job, then shut up!" Luna snapped.

Luna's words shut Wendy up immediately.

Wendy didn't expect Luna to have such a card up her sleeve. She felt guilty, opened her mouth to speak, but Luna's glare silenced her. She mumbled and fell silent.

Alice shot Wendy a disdainful look.

She had brought Wendy along to help persuade Luna, thinking they had a good chance.

Who knew Wendy would be so useless?

"Luna, don't blame Wendy. She means well. And Ella, she's just blunt, not malicious. We're worried about you, afraid you might meet bad friends," Alice said earnestly.

Alice stopped pretending to be a shrew, knowing that tactic wouldn't work.

Luna sneered. "Ella, blunt? She's clearly malicious! Who went around saying Eric and I were freeloaders?"

Luna had decided not to compromise, so she didn't hold back.

If they had sincerely apologized online after she first exposed the evidence, she might've let it go.

But they kept making sneaky moves behind her back.

Since they were unrepentant, she had no intention of giving them any more chances.

Ella turned pale with anger at Luna's words.

Alice, standing nearby, was also seething with anger, feeling like her head was about to explode.

But Alice remembered their purpose today and forced a smile to negotiate with Luna. "Luna, Ella was just speaking out of anger. I've already scolded her. We came out early to wait for you and haven't even eaten yet. Why don't you take us to eat, and we can discuss everything calmly? We're still family. If Eric gets sick in the future, I won't ignore him. I'll help as much as I can."

Alice brought up Eric again, knowing how important he was to Luna.
