Chapter 62 His Rival in Love is No Ordinary Person

Upon hearing Eric's shout, Charles swiftly rose and made his way out. As he approached the office door, Eric's call came through.

"Charles, I'm fine. The power went out just now, and my phone fell to the ground."

Eric was afraid that Charles would worry, so he had gotten up too quickly, but he fallen again. He found his phone and called Charles immediately, though he didn't tell Charles he was still on the floor.

"Eric, I'll send a colleague to stay with you. Just call him Mike. I'll send you his photo. Open the door when he arrives."

Charles was still worried about Eric and arranged for Mike to protect him because Mike was skilled and could handle any situation.

Eric obediently agreed, knowing that not refusing was the best cooperation at this moment.

Charles drove out in the car that was covered in scratches.

The Rolls-Royce convoy followed at a certain distance.

All the way, Charles kept calling Luna, but he couldn't get through. When he arrived at the police station, he saw Luna and Warren walking out together.

Charles's face darkened and he honked the horn.

Luna heard the sound and walked over quickly.

Warren also saw Charles and froze in place.

He didn't expect that Luna's husband from the flash marriage was so handsome!

And he had such a strong presence, with sharp features and impeccable looks.

His rival was no ordinary person!

"Why are you here? Did Eric tell you?"

Seeing Charles, Luna's first reaction was that Eric had called him.

Charles's expression was indifferent, revealing no emotion.

"Why couldn't I reach your phone?"

"It fell and broke during the fight with the thug. I can only get it fixed tomorrow."

Luna took out her phone with the shattered screen and waved it in front of Charles.

"Let's talk in the car. It's getting late."

Charles said as he got out of the car and opened the door for Luna.

Typically, it was the bodyguards who facilitated his entrances. It marked a significant departure for Charles to personally open the door for a lady this time.

Max and the other bodyguards sitting in the car not far away widened their eyes.

Did Mr. Lee really dislike Luna?

Why was he opening the car door for her?

They felt like Mr. Lee was acting and would slam the door on Luna in the next moment!

Luna didn't think much of it. Just as she was about to get in the car, Warren walked over quickly.

"Luna, is this your friend?"

Warren had already guessed Charles's identity but still asked knowingly.

Luna then remembered Warren and quickly introduced him.

"Warren, this is Charles, my husband. Charles, meet Warren, my best friend's brother and colleague.."

Luna gave a brief introduction, and Warren extended his hand.

"Hello."

"Huh."

Facing Warren's initiative, Charles responded coldly  and didn't shake hands with him. Instead, he gestured for Luna to get in the car.

He refused to feign courtesy toward one who desired his wife!

Even though he didn't love Luna, she was his wife now. Warren knew Luna was married but still wouldn't give up! Charles thought it is not necessary to be polite to Warren.

Warren's hand stiffened and then withdrew.

Luna's husband had quite a personality!

"Luna, I won't drive. Can I catch a ride with you guys?"

Warren persisted, using the request for a ride as a mere pretext; his true aim was to witness the dynamic between Luna and Charles.

"No, it's not on the way."

Charles's voice was icy. He didn't even ask where Warren was going before refusing.

Luna frowned. Why did she feel like Charles was full of hostility towards Warren?

But it was Charles's car. If he said no to giving Warren a ride, Luna couldn't say anything.

"Luna, I have some new thoughts about the person who attacked you. Why don't you let your husband go back first, and I'll drive you later? We can discuss it on the way."

As Warren finished speaking, Charles's face grew even darker and colder.
