Chapter 133 Learn the Bad Things So Quickly

Eric lay on his bed, his wheelchair tipped over, and his cheek pressed into the blanket, looking miserable.

"Eric, what's wrong?" Luna asked, noticing his forehead was burning up.

But Eric had dressed warmly today, so he shouldn't have a fever.

"Luna, Charles, can you guys stop arguing? I'm not feeling well," Eric said, lifting his head and looking at them pitifully.

"Okay, we won't argue. I'm sorry I woke you up," Luna said, feeling guilty.

She still wasn't used to living with Charles. When they argued, she ignored Eric, which was her fault.

"Eric, we're fine. We were just talking a bit loudly," Charles added, trying to comfort him.

"Eric, I'll take you to the hospital for a check-up," Luna said, trying to help him up, but Eric , wincing in pain, shook his head and refused.

"No need, I'll be fine in a bit."

"Eric, your immune system is weak. A common cold and fever can be serious for you. Let's go to the hospital," Luna insisted, thinking Eric was refusing to go to the hospital because he didn't want to trouble her.

"Yeah, I'll drive you guys. Once you're checked and everything's fine, I'll bring you back," Charles offered, thinking Eric was worried about getting a cab at night.

"There's no need. I just had the blanket a bit too thick, so..." Eric said, reaching under the blanket.

Luna glanced at the blanket suspiciously. It wasn't thick, and Eric's expression showed a hint of guilt.

Her professional instincts kicked in. She pretended to comfort Eric and got up to pour him a glass of water. As she stood up, she quickly lifted the blanket.

A heating pad fell out.

"Eric! What is this?" Luna pointed at the heating pad, looking sternly at him.

Now she knew why his forehead was hot. Even though it was autumn, it wasn't cold enough for a heating pad, and the house had underfloor heating.

Charles looked at the heating pad and fell into deep thought. So Eric's body heat was from him holding the heating pad on purpose. But he didn't scold Eric, knowing Luna would handle it.

"Eric! You deliberately used the heating pad and wrapped yourself in the blanket to make your body hot! I get that you wanted to stop us from arguing, but how could you fake being sick to scare me? You learn the bad things so quickly!" Luna was furious.

She had been really scared and even bumped into the wall while running to Eric's room. Who knew he was faking it?

"Luna! Stop making insinuations!" Charles snapped back angrily at Luna and stormed out, accidentally kicking over a chair in Eric's room.

The fallen chair landed right on Luna's foot, causing sharp pain. She gritted her teeth and didn't make a sound. Charles slammed the door and left, not seeing this.

Luna waited until the door was closed, then slowly sat on the floor, her foot already swollen.

"Luna, I'm sorry... I shouldn't have lied," Eric said, coming to her side sadly.

The siblings both sat on the floor. Eric gently hugged Luna's shoulder, lowering his head in guilt.

Luna knew her words had been harsh. She tried to help Eric stand up but found she couldn't put any weight on her left foot.
