Chapter 58 First, I'll Break Your Legs
Bobby knew the Blackwood family had some influence, and Summer was definitely capable of doing it.
"Please... don't go to my company.I acted on impulse today. I shouldn't have hit her, but Emily hit me back hard! I'm all bloodied up, looking worse than she is. Let's just drop this. It was my fault, okay?"
Bobby admitted his mistake very reluctantly.
"Have you no shame? Your entire family teamed up against Emily! You struck her and then bolted, abandoning the child on the sofa with no one to care for him! Yet you have the audacity to claim Emily hit forcefully! If I were in Emily's shoes, I'd start by breaking both your legs.!"
As Summer spoke, she kicked a chair across the room.
David wanted to start cursing but was stopped by Bobby's look.
If things got out of hand today and they called the police, how could their family continue to live here?
"Emily, if they lay a hand on you again tonight, call us immediately, and we'll be right over."
Luna left with these words.
Bobby was so overwhelmed that he didn't even bother to wipe the blood off his face.
"Fear not. Starting today, my son and I will bunk together! The bedroom is off-limits to all! Should anybody dare enter, I'll be poised with a blade!"
Emily was resolute. She wouldn't have any intimate interactions with Bobby until she had gathered enough evidence.
Luna and Summer left Emily's house, looking back every few steps. Just as they exited the neighborhood, Warren arrived.
"I was afraid of traffic at this hour, so I took the subway."
Warren was panting heavily.
"Get in the car. It's temporarily resolved."
Summer motioned for Warren to get in.
Luna was busy copying the video Emily had sent her.
They hadn't had time to watch it at Emily's house.But when she saw the full video now, Luna's hands were trembling with anger.
In the video, Bobby abruptly pulled Emily off the couch in silence, disregarding her grasp on the child.
After falling, Emily first placed Tommy Hill safely on the couch.
By then, Bobby was already on top of Emily, choking her.
Emily resisted, but she was at a disadvantage from the start and was no match for Bobby.
Bobby's parents were in the living room at the time. Wendy just glanced over and then turned to clean up the table, muttering that Emily deserved it.
David stood with his hands on his hips, watching.
Seeing that Emily was about to break free from Bobby, David finally moved and kicked Emily.
Bobby choked Emily for a while longer, only letting go when she was gasping for air.
Luna sent the video to Summer, too angry to speak.
Were it not for compiling evidence against Emily, Bobby would have faced arrest much earlier!
But were he apprehended, Bobby would probably shift his assets, rendering it challenging to compel him to confess to the renovation and vehicular costs.
"Summer, there's something you and Luna are unaware of. Initially, Bobby had his sights set on you, but upon my investigation, I deemed him untrustworthy. Consequently, I had a friend caution him to back off!"
"He was probably scared of me, so he turned to pursue Emily instead."
After Warren finished speaking, Summer slammed on the brakes, pulled over, and turned to glare at him.
"Why didn't you say anything earlier?"
Warren looked aggrieved and said, "At the time, I just thought he had impure motives and was a smooth talker. When I saw he didn't dare to go after you, I didn't think much of it. Who knew he and Emily would get serious so quickly? I was away for training for a few months, and they were already talking about marriage."
