Chapter 42 Bite Back
Luna was surprised that he could get angry just because she didn't remind him to change clothes.
"Mr. Lee, do you have some misunderstanding about yourself? With that frosty face , even if you changed into casual clothes, would it really change your aura?"
Luna felt she was just stating the truth.
Charles raised his hand to touch his face.
Was his face frosty?
"Seriously, why are we here? The supermarket's so much easier - tons of parking, and nobody playing bumper cars in the aisles!"
Charles pointed at the chaotic parking lot.
Seeing that he genuinely didn't understand, Luna patiently explained,"Charles, actually, a lot of the vegetables in the supermarket are wholesaled from here. They wholesale in the morning and retail from noon to 2 PM. There are also stationery and daily necessities, which are very cheap and affordable."
"If we're just buying something to eat now, the small supermarket downstairs is fine. But since we need to buy a lot, this place is more cost-effective."
After explaining, Luna had Charles push Eric's wheelchair ,while she took out a pre-written shopping list and started buying according to it.
Luna walked ahead with a folding cart, and Charles glanced at the list, which had over twenty items, all related to Eric except for the food.
Not a single item was for herself.
Eric liked to draw, so Luna wholesaled twenty sketchbooks and put them in the cart.
"I'm going over there to buy some seafood. The ground is too dirty, so you guys stay here and wait for me."
Luna pointed to the seafood area ahead, and the smell was already noticeable before she even got close.
Charles didn't like the smell, so he pushed Eric far away.
Once Luna was out of sight, Charles walked a few steps away and dialed Max's number.
"Max, check on Ella and Alice's recent activities. If they're up to something, find a way to stop them."
"Okay, I'll check right away."
Knowing Mr. Lee hated trouble and likely didn't want to deal with Luna's eccentric relatives for another month, Max was puzzled by his willingness to help her.
After hanging up, Charles turned around and saw the seven or eight-year-old naughty boy, Rascal Patel, spraying water on Eric with a water gun.
As he sprayed, he laughed and shouted, "Stand up and chase me! Why don't you stand up? I'm going to defeat you on behalf of Superman!"
Eric's wheelchair seemed to be stuck, and he could only raise his hands to cover his face to avoid the water.
Seeing this, Charles's expression changed instantly. He took a few quick steps, snatched the Superman water gun from the kid's hand, and threw it into a nearby drainage ditch.
The water gun fell into the drainage ditch filled with smelly seafood water.
Rascal Patel let out a surprised cry and then burst into loud wails.
"You owe me a Superman! I'm going to kill you!"
Despite his young age, hiswords were shocking.
At that moment, Charles recognized his parents rushing over, realizing they were the couple he'd seen buying groceries earlier.
When Rascal was bullying Eric, they didn't care. While their own child cried, they rushed over immediately.
"What's wrong with you? You're an adult, how can you bully a child?"
"My son is so cute and well-behaved! Are you some kind of psycho who likes to bully kids? Do you have some special fetish?"
The couple were exceptionally good at turning the tables.
No wonder they could raise such a bratty kid.
