Chapter 25 Choose the Most Expensive One
When he realized that he opened the door with his clothes disheveled, Charles quickly slammed it shut.
Luna was left outside the door.
She was stunned for three seconds before she realized what had happened and had to use the key to open the door again.
This time, the door wasn't locked. It opened, but Charles was not there. There was some noise coming from the master bedroom.
Luna entered, removedher shoes, and walked to the master bedroom door. Charles happened to come out, fully dressed in a sharp suit, without a tie.
Luna's mouth twitched.
Charles glared at Luna fiercely.
Luna couldn't help but laugh, "Why are you glaring at me? I don't even care to look! Mr. Lee, don't act like you're at a huge loss every time!"
She still remembered how he looked disgusted when she accidentally touched the back of his hand once.
Now,when she just saw him right after his shower, he shut her out directly!
'Does this guy have some kind of cleanliness obsession?'Luna thought.
Charles was extremely frustrated at this moment.
Earlier, he wanted to shower and go to bed, but the master bedroom shower wasn't working well. It was too late to call the butler, so he went to the guest bathroom to shower.
He had thought it might be inappropriate if Luna came back early, so he locked the bedroom door.
Who knew that after his shower, he received a phone call. While talking, he heard a knock on the door and naturally went to open it.
That's how the earlier scene happened.
In the past, it was always the butler or Max knocking. He forgot that there was now a woman in the house—his nominal wife!
Charles didn't want to argue with Luna. His gaze fell on the men's clothes in her hand, and he sneered inwardly.'Are those clothes Warren's?'
'Does she like to keep men hanging around ambiguously?'
"Luna, you brought back some late-night snacks."
At this moment, Eric appeared just in time and eased the awkward tension.
He even gave Charles a pitiful look.
Charles' cold demeanor softened a bit, and he sat on the couch without saying anything.
"Yes, I bought some late-night snacks. Mr. Lee, would you like to join us? I bought a lot."
Luna wasn't a stingy person. She was grateful that Charles provided a place for her and Eric, even though he was picky and arrogant.
The snacks were bought on her way back.
Once opened, the familiar smell filled the living room.
Charles' face turned colder, because the smell was just like that of the Subway across from the police station.
He couldn't stand that smell.
"Eating too much fast food is unhealthy. Don't give it to the kid!"
Charles frowned and stopped Luna as she handed a sandwich to Eric.
Luna felt he was just being contrary.
"Mr. Lee, this place has been open for many years and uses good ingredients. The owner relies on regular customers. The food is completly genuine!“
”Moreover, the owner's got a 'A meal' deal for folks in a tight spot. Pop in, ask for it, and enjoy a free, hearty meal. Let's not look down on others."
Then Luna handed Eric some fries.
To Charles, those fries looked extremely greasy.
Eric looked at Charles, then at the fries, and finally couldn't resist the temptation of the food and started eating heartily.
Charles remained silent.
He got up and went back to his room.
But when his peripheral vision caught Warren's coat on the chair, his expression turned even colder.
If she couldn't behave herself for this month, he wouldn't hesitate to kick her out early.
The next morning, after Luna got up and washed, she went to the living room to open the windows for ventilation. Seeing Eric still asleep, she didn't bother him.
As she passed the master bedroom, the door opened, and Charles came out. Seeing her, he suddenly realized he had left a couple of shirt buttons undone and immediately retreated, closing the door with a dark expression.
Luna stopped in her tracks.
Did she see something she shouldn't have again?
