Chapter 246 I Want to Be with Her Forever
Charles heard the word "surprise," and his first reaction was to wonder if Luna wanted to continue living with him. But then he thought, Luna wouldn't use that as a surprise. If she had that idea, she would talk to him openly and wouldn't do something so romantic.
She was probably making something delicious or thanking him for buying Eric a tablet with a gift for him.
Nevertheless, Charles was very happy and eagerly prepared to leave work early.
Driving past a flower shop, Charles got out and bought a bouquet of tiger lilies.
He originally wanted to give roses, but was afraid it would put pressure on Luna. Giving lilies could be seen as something for the house and also a way to test her attitude.
Holding the lilies as he walked out of the flower shop, Charles looked down at the finely wrapped bouquet. All he could see was Luna's serene and gentle face.
Thinking about it, he couldn't help but stand on the street with the flowers, grinning foolishly.
The bodyguard team following him was stunned.
They could never have imagined that the dignified Mr. Lee would be standing on the street, smiling so happily with a bouquet of flowers.
Just as Charles was smiling with the flowers, an incredulous and surprised voice suddenly sounded in his ear.
"Charlie?"
"Is it really you?"
Evelyn's voice was not a surprise but a shock to Charles.
Charles quickly glanced at Evelyn, who was running over from across the street. Mike and the others had already rushed out of the car, stopping Evelyn before she could reach Charles.
Charles took the opportunity to turn and leave through a side alley of the flower shop.
"Get out of the way!"
"Don't block me!"
"Charlie! Charlie, don't go! Can you stop avoiding me? Give me a few minutes to explain, okay?"
Evelyn shouted at Charles.
But seven or eight bodyguards blocked the entrance to the alley tightly, and Evelyn couldn't get through.
Hearing Evelyn's voice, Charles stopped.
The next moment, Charles suddenly turned around and walked back.
He indeed couldn't avoid it; he also needed to make things clear with Evelyn. It was also giving her one last chance. If she continued to be obstinate, then she would be beyond help.
"Mr. Lee."
Seeing Charles return, Mike immediately became nervous.
Charles waved his hand, signaling him not to stop Evelyn.
Seeing the bodyguards make way, Evelyn excitedly rushed to Charles, almost wanting to throw herself into his arms.
She hadn't seen him for half a year. He was still the same, but his eyes and demeanor had changed slightly. He was no longer as cold and unapproachable as before.
There was warmth now, but it was unfamiliar to her, and he didn't want to warm her.
Seeing him holding the flowers, Evelyn cautiously asked, "Charlie, are these flowers for your mother?"
Charles took a step back to distance himself from Evelyn. When she tried to step forward, Charles immediately gave her a warning look.
"Evelyn, I stopped because you were right about one thing: I shouldn't avoid you! But I won't keep giving you chances either!
This is the last time I'm going to make things clear! We are impossible! We were impossible before, and we will be impossible in the future! As for this bouquet, it's for a young girl I'm pursuing. I want to be with her for the long term!
You should know my temperament. Once I set my mind on someone, I won't change easily. So, turn back while you can. You're still young; go find your true happiness.
With me, you won't have any outcome."
As Charles finished speaking, tears streamed down Evelyn's cheeks.
She stared at Charles with a dazed look.
Charlie wasn't telling the truth!
He didn't have someone he liked!
He was just making up an excuse to make her give up!
