Chapter 234 He Fell in Love with Luna

Luna's first reaction to the sudden grab was to pull her hand away.

But Charles's grip was strong, and she didn't succeed on the first try.

It made Luna, an outstanding police academy graduate, feel a bit ashamed. Had she returned everything she learned to her teachers?

"Let go!"

Luna warned Charles in a low voice, her eyes shooting daggers at him.

Charles's eyes, however, showed a fleeting moment of grievance.

It made Luna feel like she had done something wrong.

Clearly, it was Charles who made the first move. Why should she feel guilty?

"You sleepwalked and kissed me before, but I can't hold your hand?"

Charles's words left Luna speechless.

Compared to holding hands, a kiss was indeed more inappropriate.

"Aren't we meeting Anna tomorrow? I thought we could practice a bit in advance, act more affectionate, and put an end to her hopes. You need to cooperate with me just like now."

Charles attributed his sudden hand-holding to the rehearsal for tomorrow.

Luna breathed a sigh of relief and took the opportunity to pull her hand away.

"You scared me! I thought you were serious!"

However, to Luna, Charles's sudden move was indeed frightening.

Charles: "..."

"So, when we meet Anna tomorrow, I can't hold your hand?"

Charles's tone sounded normal, but his eyes darkened.

Luna had never liked him from the beginning, but he had become the one to fall first.

The more someone like Charles, who was always above everything, took the first step, the harder it was to stop.

His feelings for Luna had evolved from misunderstanding to appreciation, and now she had a place in his heart.

He knew very clearly that he liked Luna.

Charles had the confidence of someone in a high position, and he had his own plans.

Although he wasn't at the point of being in love or willing to do anything for her, Luna's appearance was the biggest exception in his past twenty-some years.

He didn't avoid his feelings after realizing he liked her; instead, he wanted to continue with her.

But Luna's heart had too many concerns and barriers.

To get inside, he would have to go through many tests.

Luna had already returned to her seat with a plate, and Charles sat across from her, quietly waiting for her answer.

Luna took a sip of juice, clearly having thought it through before speaking.

"Do we have to hold hands?"

Luna's expression wasn't that troubled, but Charles could sense her reluctance.

He sighed lightly, "If you don't want to, it's fine."

"It's not that I can't. Just don't say I'm taking advantage of you. You sincerely helped Eric before, and I can't just treat you to a meal. I'll fully cooperate with you tomorrow."

When Luna agreed to something, she would do her best.

That was one of the things Charles admired about her.

Hearing her agreement, Charles's eyes lit up. For the first time, he found the Maple Leaf Manor Hotel's environment pleasing; it was no longer the mismatched place he once thought it was.

"By the way, I picked out a gift for you. See if you like it. If not, you can give it to someone else. I don't mind."

Luna handed the gift to Charles.

Charles opened the box to find a pair of exquisite cufflinks. He looked at Luna thoughtfully, "These need to be sewn on. I don't know how."

"That's not hard. I'll sew them on for you when we get back."

"Okay."

Charles had been waiting for Luna to say that.

In fact, he would have liked any gift Luna gave him.

"As long as you like it."

Luna also breathed a sigh of relief. After all, it was her first time giving a gift to a young man, and she had no confidence.

After eating, Luna got up to pour a glass of juice, and Charles suddenly received a call from Mike.

"Mr. Lee, Evelyn is here and heading towards the buffet."

Charles fell silent.
