Chapter 210 Partners in Crime

Bobby used to secretly disdain Emily, but now he didn't even bother hiding it. Emily snapped, "Bobby, my body's not what it used to be because I had Tommy. What I wear and how I do my makeup is my business! And don't even start about me spending your money. The renovation before we got married, the loan repayments for your parents, and the car you're driving now—all from me! If you don't transfer the money, I'll bring Tommy to your office tomorrow! I know exactly where it is!"

Emily knew Bobby's weak spots well. It took his whole family pulling strings to get him his current job, so he really valued it. When Bobby heard Emily threatening to cause a scene at his office, his face darkened. "Don't you dare!"

Emily shot back, "I'll bring the video of you abusing me too!"

Bobby grumbled, "You... fine! I'll give it to you! Just don't call me tonight!"

The word "abuse" made Bobby feel guilty. He'd forgotten to turn off the living room camera before he acted. Now, he needed to trick Emily into giving him her phone so he could delete that video.

Bobby hung up and reluctantly transferred $300 to Emily, feeling like he was cutting off a piece of himself. Turning around, Bobby saw Sophia coming and immediately handed her the carefully chosen diamond necklace.

Sophia opened it with a look of surprise, but seeing the diamond was only about 0.2 or 0.3 carats, she felt a bit let down. Still, she looked at Bobby with satisfaction and even scolded him for spending money recklessly on such an expensive gift.

Bobby's ego was thoroughly stroked. Bobby said, "It's not expensive at all. Spending over $2,000 on a gift for my baby is nothing. Here, let me put it on for you."

Bobby didn't think twice about dropping over $2,000 on a necklace for his mistress, but giving his own wife $300 felt like a huge sacrifice.

With a bashful look, Sophia let Bobby put the necklace on her, though she was a bit resentful about Bobby being stingy. After all, he made a million dollars a year, and he only gave her a necklace worth a little over $2,000. She wondered if he had to sleep with her before he would buy something more expensive.

Sophia said, "Bobby, you gave me such an expensive gift, I don't even know how to repay you. Once Dianne's issue is resolved, I'll repay you properly."

Sophia said this while squeezing Bobby's hand. Bobby was instantly excited. Compared to the chubby and greasy Emily, Sophia, though the same age as Emily, looked much younger. Most importantly, Sophia spoke gently and had a simple personality. In Bobby's eyes, she wasn't as cold and uninteresting as Emily.

Bobby said, "Honey, I talked to several friends about Dianne's issue. I spent over $10,000 just to smooth things over. But the person Dianne offended has some serious backing."

"Oh, what should we do then?" Sophia's face turned pale upon hearing Bobby's words.

Bobby hurried to reassure her, "There's no need to worry. I've come up with a clever plan: we'll use media pressure to our advantage. Don't you have a neighborhood group? Follow my instructions in the group, and when things escalate, their powerful backers will definitely be forced into hiding. Then you appear as an innocent and vulnerable figure, and I'll enlist a few actors to play along. Everything will be perfectly handled."

Bobby smugly gave Sophia what he thought was a brilliant idea. Since the other party hadn't shown their face, they didn't even know who they were dealing with. The only person who had seen the other side, Dianne, was still imprisoned, hard to reach. Bobby thought that if they could force the other party to show up, they would gain the upper hand.Sophia was still hesitant. After all, she was in the wrong, and if things blew up in the group, she wouldn't have the moral high ground. But after hearing Bobby's plan, Sophia's eyes lit up. Sophia said, "Bobby, you really are from a big company. You think of everything."
