Chapter 199 I Know You Have a Crush on Luna
Bobby thought Luna was a pushover, so he started to push his luck and take advantage. Luna sneered to herself, 'Revealed so quickly?'"What do you want?" Luna's voice was icy.
Bobby smirked. "It's nothing major. Since we're pals, I figured when there's a good opportunity, we should keep it in the family, you know? I know a guy who's in a bit of a jam and locked up here. Think you can get him out? The rewards will be worth it."
As Bobby finished, he reached out to touch Luna's arm, but she shoved his hand away. "Bribery and obstructing justice? The police station's right behind you. Come with me," Luna said, glaring at him. She knew this guy wasn't really sorry for his past.
Bobby tried again. "Luna, don't worry. This guy's loyal. He won't rat you out. Just find out who he ticked off. I'll give you a grand upfront. It's not chump change; just a bit of asking around."
Bobby was relentless. He knew Luna's situation. She had a house from a redevelopment project but also a brother with a rare disease, which was a money pit.
Luna snapped, "Bobby, you really don't get it, do you?"
Bobby, confused, asked, "Luna, what's wrong?"
Luna's expression changed, but Bobby thought she was just angling for more cash.
Warren came out after work and saw the scene. He immediately stepped in front of Luna. Bobby's eyes lit up. "Oh, Warren, it's me, Bobby."
Bobby thought if Luna couldn't help, maybe Warren could. The Blackwood family had even broader connections.
Warren said, "Don't act like we're buddies; I don't know you well." Warren knew about Bobby's domestic violence and despised him.
Bobby replied, "Warren, don't be like that. You were a groomsman at my wedding with Emily."
Warren's face stayed stern. "Bobby, I can't stand guys who hit women. I was a groomsman at your wedding because your parents asked me to, for Emily's sake. You treated her like crap; why should I help you?" Warren hadn't wanted to expose Bobby, but his shamelessness left him no choice. When Bobby and Emily got married, the groomsmen were Bobby's classmates. Bobby's parents looked down on them because one was a truck driver and the other a regular employee. Warren's parents were highly educated, and Bobby's parents, driven by vanity, wanted to show off that their son's circle included more than just ordinary folks but also the son of a biologist.
Luna said, "Warren, don't waste your breath on him! Let's go. If he follows, I'll have him locked up!" Bobby's face twitched, but he didn't dare follow.
In the shadows, someone arranged by Ashley quietly put away their phone and sent the photos to Ashley. The photos showed Bobby trying to grab Luna and Warren standing protectively in front of her.
Luna and Warren reached another intersection, and Luna hurried back to prepare a meal for Eric. Warren, missing out on a free meal, walked back with a look of regret.
Warren hadn't gone far when Bobby suddenly jumped out, blocking his way. Bobby said, "Warren, let's talk alone."
Bobby hadn't actually left but had been hiding and following Warren. Seeing him separate from Luna, he immediately jumped out.
Warren was about to lose his temper when Bobby gave a malicious smile. Bobby said, "Warren, I know you have a thing for Luna." Warren stayed silent.
