Chapter 229 Does He Still Want This Car in The Future?

Even though she couldn't smile at the moment, Emily held back her tears and forced a smile in front of Danniel.

"Mr. Lee, could you please give me your bank account number? I'll transfer the money to you."

"Just get in the car first. I'll take you back."

Danniel didn't mention the money and instead motioned for Emily to get in the car.

"There's no need. It's easy to get a cab now. We can manage on our own. Please, just give me your bank account number."

As soon as Emily finished speaking, Tommy started to whimper and cry. After all this fuss, Tommy just wanted to lie down and sleep.

"The sooner you get home, the sooner the child can rest. Get in the car."

Danniel was doing this as a favor to Luna and Charles, allowing Emily and the child to get in the car.

Emily glanced at Tommy and, without insisting further, opened the car door and got in.

"Don't wait until the child is this sick to go out next time."

Inside the car, Danniel couldn't help but remind Emily.

Although he wasn't married, the Lee family always upheld the principle of being responsible and attentive parents, unlike Emily.

Emily bit her lip and said nothing. If she could, she wouldn't want to be in such a sorry state, but life was testing her.

The car started moving, and halfway through the journey, Tommy suddenly vomited.

When Tommy was getting an IV, Emily had bought some millet porridge for him at a convenience store. Tommy drank half of it, and Emily drank the rest. Maybe the car ride made him uncomfortable, so he threw up.

The car and Emily were now covered in Tommy's vomit.

Emily felt both heartbroken and embarrassed.

"Mr. Lee, could you please open the window for some fresh air?"

Emily didn't bother cleaning herself, but quickly used her scarf to wipe the vomit off the leather seat.

Danniel was momentarily stunned.

How did he end up vomiting in his car?

Would he even want this car anymore?

"I'm sorry, Mr. Lee. I'll get off here. I'll transfer the money for the repairs and cleaning. I'm so sorry... so sorry..."

Emily kept apologizing.

At this moment, her face was pale and colorless.

In the past twenty years, she had never been so embarrassed.

Tommy, who had vomited, didn't feel as bad as before. He probably felt better after throwing up and fell asleep in Emily's arms.

"This is the middle of nowhere. Are you going to get off and walk back with the child? You're both soaked. If you walk against the wind for fifteen minutes, do you want the child to get a fever again?"

Danniel refused Emily's request to get off and stopped the car only when they arrived at the community's back gate.

Even though the window was open, the smell in the car was still pungent.

Danniel had been holding back the urge to vomit.

Before getting out of the car, Emily insisted on transferring money to Danniel. Danniel, with his hand on the steering wheel, deliberately looked impatient.

"The tires didn't cost me anything. I bought this car for so much money; it's normal for them to give me a few free tire maintenance and replacements! Just get out; I have things to do."

Danniel wanted to use his impatient attitude to dismiss Emily.

Seeing this, Emily had to compromise, "Mr. Lee, if you don't want the money for the tires, at least take the money for the car wash. I know it costs around $25 to clean a regular car that's been vomited on. For your car, it must be at least $300. How about I transfer $500 to you?"

Emily refused to get out of the car until Danniel accepted the cleaning fee.

Danniel waved his hand, looking even more impatient.

"$500 it is."

Danniel pulled up the payment code, and Emily immediately scanned it to pay.

She still had $500. She would repay the $2,500 she borrowed from Luna later.

But when she tried to transfer the money, it showed that her bank card didn't have enough funds.

Emily was stunned. She clearly remembered having over $700 in her account.

How could it not be enough?
