Chapter 46 A Face Full of White Hair
Luna supported Eric and looked back at him.
"Eric wants to try walking up by himself. Back at Ella's place, he didn't have the chance . He can only wait for me to have time to exercise with him when I am on vacation. I saw the sun was out today, and Eric wanted to take a walk."
"I'll support him. You take the stuff upstairs. If he gets tired and can't walk anymore, I can carry him up."
Charles seemed to have gotten used to taking care of Eric.
It wasn't just sympathy.
"Luna, go upstairs and cook. I'm starving."
Seeing Luna was still worried, Eric urged her to go upstairs.
Actually, Eric quite enjoyed being alone with Charles. After all, sometimes he needed some male bonding.
Besides, he and Charles already had their own little secrets.
Luna nodded, gave Charles a few instructions, and then carried the bags upstairs.
Charles originally wanted to help her carry the bags, but he saw her carrying dozens of pounds of stuff with ease.
She seemed to walk even faster than him.
As Charles and Eric finished their walk and headed back inside, Luna called down from upstairs that dinner was ready.
Charles wanted to carry Eric, but Eric wanted to try climbing the stairs himself.
Charles thought it would be good exercise for him, so he accompanied Eric step by step.
By the time they reached the third floor, both were drenched in sweat.
When Luna opened the door, Eric immediately plopped into his wheelchair, not wanting to move at all.
Luna passed out fresh towels, ones she'd picked up just that day.
Eric habitually shook the new towel, but Charles didn't understand and just wiped his face with it.
But why did this towel feel so different from the ones he usually used?
It lacked softness, lacked substance.
The towel felt rough and strange against Charles's face, so he pulled it away. He hadn't realized it was shedding white lint, clinging to his skin, even the tip of his nose.
He looked both funny and awkward.
Luna and Eric burst into laughter simultaneously.
They didn't want to tell him. When watching him walk around the living room with a face full of white lint, Luna and Eric laughed until their stomachs hurt.
"What are you laughing at?"
Charles still didn't know what was going on.
He just felt their laughter had something to do with him.
He had never used such cheap towels before!
He even didn't know that he had to shake off the loose lint first or rinse them before use, or else they'd shed lint everywhere.
Luna couldn't hold back and pointed at his face, "Charles, go look in the mirror, and you'll understand."
Charles fell silent.
Hewalked into the master bathroom, looked in the mirror. His expression turned thunderous.
"Luna! What kind of towels did you buy? Are you sure they're not for cleaning the floor?"Charles shouted angrily.
He thought the floor-cleaning rags at home were of better quality.
As Charles picked off the lint in front of the mirror, Luna and Eric erupted into a fit of laughter again in the living room.
Listening to their laughter, Charles was initially angry, but somehow, he couldn't help but laugh at himself too.
This ordinary life was really a mess for him! No, it was a face full of white lint!
While Luna was serving the soup in the kitchen, Charles received a phone callrom Mike
"Mr. Lee, we've got the dirt on the Patel family. They're repeat offenders, constantly involved in petty theft."
Charles pondered for a moment and said, "If there's enough evidence, report them."
"Understood! Mr. Lee, also, the car blocking the parking lot was towed away quickly. But the woman kicked your car a few times later. Then she saw it was a blind spot for the cameras and scratched your car with a key."
