Chapter 129 The Cold-Faced Devil
Luna rocked a light blue dress today, paired with white sneakers and a khaki crossbody bag. She just threw her hair into a ponytail, looking fresh and youthful without trying too hard.
Charles was pretty pleased with her look. Even though she was the spotlight today, she wasn't trying to steal the spotlight or impress anyone. She just dressed in a way that made her feel good and fit the occasion.
Eric went for a clean, light beige casual outfit. His naturally fair skin, delicate features, and big, sparkling eyes made him look more refined than most girls, even in the simplest clothes.
As Charles led them into the private room, his dad stood up to greet Luna, while Ashley just nodded and smiled.
Even though Charles' two uncles were elders, they stood up to greet them warmly.
"Luna, Eric, these are my parents—Vincent and Ashley, Uncle Zachary, Uncle Jackie, and Uncle Jackie's twins, James Lee and Olivia Lee."
After the introductions, Luna and Eric greeted everyone.
Luna noticed Vincent was calm and reserved, rarely smiling but looking natural. Ashley was the only one who remained seated, she just gave her a neutral look, but no hostility.
Charles' second uncle seemed sharp and experienced, while Uncle Jackie came off as easygoing and sincere, radiating a sincere and approachable demeanor.
The twins looked just a couple of years older than Eric. James had a trendy single-eyelid look with a warm smile, and Olivia had striking features and a lively vibe. But before speaking, they always glanced at Charles, worried about saying the wrong thing and ticking him off.
Eric was exceptionally well-mannered, always smiling and responding nicely to the elders. It didn't take long for him to hit it off with James and Olivia.
They had heard about Eric's rare disease and expected him to be sickly and gloomy. But to their surprise, he was not only stunningly beautiful but also humorous and genuine in his speech, showing no signs of feeling inferior or wary.
When Eric mentioned he liked to draw, Olivia, who majored in art, started chatting with him; and James quickly found common ground too.
Charles had asked them earlier to keep Eric company and keep the conversation going. They were nervous about saying something wrong and upsetting Eric, thinking patients were often fragile.
But Eric turned out to be way more optimistic and strong than they had imagined.
Luna also chatted casually with the elders, staying relaxed and calm.
She didn't try to flatter anyone or stand out. If she could respond to the elders, she did; if not, she just smiled.
The Lee family was polite to her, and she treated them sincerely in return.
"Eric, do you have the latest model of the telescope at home?" James asked, eyes wide with interest.
He wanted one too, but his allowance didn't cover it.
"That telescope isn't mine. It's Charles's. He set it up and taught me how to use it."
James looked shocked. "Did you say Charles set it up for you? And he taught you how to use it?" He felt like they were talking about a different person.
"My multifunctional drawing board was also set up by Charles. It only took him half an hour." Eric added.
Eric had no idea Charles was seen as a cold-faced tyrant by his younger siblings. He just answered James's questions honestly.
