Chapter 137 Why Should I Apologize?
"Mom, chill out. You're not young anymore. This stress isn't your jam. Remember, you've got me. I've got this!"
Seeing his mom crying, Luke jumped up.
Cassandra stood up too, putting down a rotten peach, but stayed quiet. She thought, 'Alice is at it again. Last time she stayed over, I said something and made Alice cry for hours. I had to apologize then. Better to stay silent now.'
"Luke, Mom didn't want you to know. She's upset because of Lisa. I messed up with Luna, but I was thinking about Ethan's future. You get it, right? Every parent wants the best for their kid!"
"Mom loves Luna and Eric. She always talks about visiting them to clear things up. But Lisa exposed Luna and Eric's number, and Luna retaliated online."
"Now Mom wants to tell Luna she did it, not Lisa. I've tried to stop her, but she won't listen."
Ella followed the plan she and Alice had discussed.
Luke jumped up again. "Mom, you can't take the blame for Lisa! Whoever messed up should apologize! You're not apologizing to Luna! I'll talk to Lisa!"
He grabbed his phone to call Lisa. Alice pretended to stop him.
"Don't call! You'll just argue with your sister, and it'll be my fault! I'm old, but I can take the blame!"
"Mom! Macus is on a business trip, and I'm the only son here. I have to handle this! Lisa should apologize, not you!"
Luke dialed Lisa's number. Cassandra wanted to stop him but couldn't. She glared at Alice and Ella, suspecting a setup but had no proof.
The call connected, and Luke got straight to it.
"Lisa, Mom wants to apologize to Luna for you because you exposed Luna and Eric's numbers. You can't let her do that! Come to Ella's place, and we'll figure out how you should apologize."
"Luke, what are you saying? How can you talk to Lisa like that! I said she doesn't need to apologize. I'm willing to take the blame! Don't talk to Lisa like that! It's not her fault!" Alice shouted, pretending to be hoarse.
On the other end, Lisa was furious, gripping the phone.
"Luke! You're my brother. How can you order me around like that! Besides, exposing the number was something Ella, Alice, and I discussed together. It wasn't just me! Why should I apologize! Mom doesn't have to, but Ella should do it with me!"
Lisa wasn't naive. She could apologize but wanted to drag Ella along and get something from Alice too!
