Chapter 134 She Was in A Dilemma
Luna tried to stand up by herself, but the moment her left foot hit the ground, the pain was excruciating. She figured that a sharp corner of the chair must have hit her toe when it fell.
She calmed Eric down and called Summer.
Half an hour later, Summer rushed over and found Luna leaning against a utility pole.
"Damn! Did you hurt yourself, or did someone hurt you? Be honest!"
Summer rolled up her sleeves, remembering how Emily had been abused before.
Luna waved her off. "I hurt myself. Just take me to the hospital."
Luna knew Charles had accidentally knocked over the chair in his anger when he stormed out. She was focused on Eric and didn't notice the chair falling.
So, she didn't blame Charles entirely.
On the way, Summer asked casually, "Why don't you want me to tell Warren? Having a guy around to help wouldn't hurt."
Luna looked down and said softly, "Work's been crazy lately. Let's not bother him."
Luna chose not to reveal the whole truth, and Summer didn't press her further. At the hospital, they registered for the emergency room. Luckily, no broken bones, but she was advised to rest for a few days.
On the way back, Luna looked at her swollen instep, pulled out her phone, and deleted Charles from her Facebook without a second thought.
Summer, driving, debated whether to tell Warren. If she did, Luna would be mad, and Warren might stir things up. But if she didn't, and Warren found out, he'd be furious.
She was in a dilemma!
At Ella's house, things were grim. Ella avoided her phone and Facebook because of all the hate.
Luna and Eric had been cursed before, and now the backlash they faced was even worse.
Ella hadn't eaten much in two days, and the stress had left her throat raw and hoarse. Even a slight cough sent waves of pain through her aching body.
Ethan called early, launching into a tirade against his mom.
"Mom! Have you figured this out yet? I can't even show my face at work! The female colleagues who used to be nice to me now avoid me like the plague! Even the boss has stopped giving me projects to lead!"
"The guys who weren't as good as me now mock me! You said we could wait for Luna's apology! Now your so-called 'cleverness' has ruined my reputation!"
Ethan hadn't stepped in when Ella and Alice were dealing with Luna. He even helped stir things up online. Now that it backfired, he blamed Ella and Alice.
"Ethan, I'm really not feeling well. How about you take a few days off and come home? We can figure out how to deal with Luna." Ella's voice was weak and hoarse.
Ethan snapped, "If I take leave, I won't get full attendance!"
Ella sighed, "I'll cover your attendance money."
Ethan retorted, "Isn't your money mine too? Think before you speak! I don't care what it takes , you, Alice, and Lisa need to fix this today! Clear my name!"
"If it comes down to it, let Alice kneel and apologize to Luna! As long as Luna clarifies online that it was all just a misunderstanding and a family dispute, I can turn this around!"
