Chapter 141 You Are Not Friends With This Person

Ella didn't see that coming. When she couldn't get anything useful from Helen, she turned to Alice. But Alice just kept beating around the bush.

When Ella pushed harder, Alice started crying, saying Ella didn't trust her anymore.

Meanwhile, Luke was at the hospital getting a tooth fixed and couldn't care less about the drama.

Ella was exhausted and didn't know how she'd face her son that evening.

Frustrated, she cried all afternoon.

Pine Valley Villas.

Charles didn't realize the chair he knocked over had landed on Luna's foot.

He was still mad at Luna.

He woke up with a headache. The servant had made his usual breakfast, but something felt off.

Charles didn't get that what was missing was the lively vibe he'd gotten used to lately.

"Mr. Lee, which car will you be taking out later?" the butler asked, noticing Charles was almost done eating.

He could tell Charles had come back in a bad mood last night, probably after a fight with Ms. Brown.

"Have Nick get the car ready. I won't be driving today," Charles said, still angry and with a headache. He told the butler what happened last night.

Some things were awkward to tell his parents, but the butler was a good listener.

The butler smiled. "Mr. Lee, you and Ms. Brown really seem like a couple. It doesn't look like you'll be parting ways in a month. It appears you're keen on keeping this setup for the long haul."

"Otherwise, last night's incident wouldn't have mattered to you. It's clear you're emotionally invested."

The butler, a top philosophy grad, always nailed it.

Charles frowned, thinking, ' Did I care? No way!'

But Luna was definitely better than Anna!

Though he'd never met Anna, he'd heard stuff from Ashley and thought Anna was good at pretending.

"So what should I do? This isn't a business deal," Charles admitted.

With Luna, he felt like he was hitting walls.

The butler advised, "Mr. Lee, you're living with Ms. Brown because you don't want a second marriage, and she needs a place to stay for Eric."

"She values living together harmoniously without interference. It's a good place for Eric."

"Her goals are simple. If things change, it's because your needs or thoughts have changed."

The butler stopped there, thinking, 'Mr. Lee is smart; he'll get it.'

Charles realized he'd been a bit harsh yesterday.

If Luna really didn't know Warren had a crush on her, it wasn't her fault.

If he just wanted to live with her, why couldn't he talk calmly?

Home wasn't a negotiation table, and Luna wasn't an opponent.

"Butler, you can go now. Tell Nick I'll drive myself later. They can just follow."

Charles sighed in relief, then picked up his phone to call Luna.

Feeling a call might be awkward, he sent her a message on Facebook instead.

He texted: [What time will you be back tonight? We need to talk.]

After sending it, Charles saw a big exclamation mark next to his message! Along with a notification: [Sorry, you are not friends with this person!]
