Chapter 155 Have You Forgotten Me?
Luna, still in a coma, unknowingly squeezed Charles' hand.
Charles hesitated, wanting to pull his hand away but fearing he might aggravate her wound, so he just sat by the bed.
Luna was restless, her hands almost touching the wound on her forehead.
"Careful."
"Don't move."
Charles had never dealt with this before. When Luna turned over, he quickly pulled his hand out and held hers to keep her from touching her forehead.
Luna started crying in her sleep, maybe dreaming.
"Dad, I miss you... Don't leave..."
"Dad, will you come see me? Why don't you come into my dreams..."
"Dad, are you okay? Have you forgotten me?"
Luna often dreamed of her parents when she felt vulnerable.
She remembered her dad being gentle when she was sick, while her mom was strict. Her parents had clear roles.
Luna and Eric grew up in a loving home.
When her parents died, her world fell apart.
She had no choice but to take on the burden of supporting the family together so her sick brother wouldn't lose his chance at life.
Charles felt a sudden, deep sadness for her.
Seeing the blood on her chin, he wanted to wipe it off, but Luna held his hand tightly.
"Dad, don't leave... Stay with me... I miss you..." Luna cried, pressing his hand to her face, her tears falling on his hand.
Charles, mistaken for her dad, sighed and tried to comfort her.
"I'm not leaving. I'm here. Don't cry... Be good..."
Charles didn't know if he was doing it right, but she calmed down, and he felt relieved.
Luna stayed asleep, and Charles sat by the bed, keeping her company.
In the middle of the night, Luna coughed and groggily opened her eyes.
"I want some water." Her voice was hoarse, and in her disoriented state, she couldn't tell dream from reality. She hadn't yet realized that she wasn't a teenager at home, with her dad taking care of her.
"Okay, I'll get it for you."
Charles opened a bottle of water the servants had prepared.
Luna was too dizzy to sit up, so Charles helped her and fed her small sips of water.
After a few sips, she waved her hand and found a comfortable spot in Charles' arms to sleep.
Just then, the doctor walked in and smiled. "You two look like newlyweds."
Charles thought, 'Can you believe she thinks I'm her dad in her dreams?'
"By the way, I noticed an old injury on her foot. It's not serious, but since you're married, you should know when she got it, right?" The doctor asked.
Charles was stunned for a moment.
"I was on a business trip. She didn't tell me. I'll ask her when she wakes up."
Charles had a strong feeling her foot injury was related to him.
"Alright, it's not a rush. You should change her clothes later. Even if it's just for a day, you have to follow the hospital's rules."
The doctor added, "After all, you are a couple."
Charles stayed silent.
