Chapter 169 The Cheating Couple
Ethan had a smug look, sure he'd nail it this time.
He laid out the plan.
"Grandma, don't worry. This time, there's no way it can go wrong. Luna's got so many flaws, we're bound to win. Just wait till she can't take it anymore and comes back to apologize. Then we'll make her record an apology video."
Alice and Ella looked thrilled.
Travis, however, had a nagging feeling that things wouldn't go as smoothly as they hoped. But he kept his mouth shut.
"Ethan, you're smart! So many ideas and connections! All those years of school paid off! I want Luna to kneel and apologize, and write a guarantee. When that house gets demolished, she owes me a cut of the money!" Alice said, gritting her teeth.
Ella and Ethan's eyes lit up at the mention of demolition money.
"I checked. The demolition money will be paid out in three months max. I'll keep an eye out, and we'll act fast," Ethan said.
Ethan had always wanted a $60,000 car, but getting Ella to pay was tough. He thought Luna's demolition money would be his, but she ditched him fast.
"Mom, don't worry. With Ethan on it, we won't miss out," Ella said, looking relieved and dreaming of Luna's apology.
HarmonyHaven Hotel, Western Restaurant.
Bobby ordered a $998 couple's meal, waiting for Sophia.
When Sophia arrived, her eyes were swollen.
Bobby's heart broke, thinking someone had hurt her.
"Baby, what's wrong? Tell me, and I'll handle it," Bobby said, patting his chest.
Sophia sniffled, "It's my brother. He's still locked up, and I just got bailed out. I'll get a court summons soon, facing compensation or jail. I'm so scared..."
Sophia was genuinely scared. She thought she was in a blind spot when she scratched the car, but it had four-way surveillance. In the past, her brother usually handled these things, but this time was different.
She was clueless about the owner's background and tried to follow them, but they always knew and warned her they'd call the police. Fearing another run-in with the law, she gave up. Now, she relied on Bobby.
Bobby looked troubled. He'd already spent thousands trying to smooth things over for Dianne, but it was useless. He couldn't find out anything about the other party. He wanted Emily to ask Luna for help, but Emily ignored him.
"Bobby, I'm not forcing you to help. I'm just feeling down, and you're the only one I can talk to. Please don't mind. I have no other friends," Sophia said, tearing up again.
She had Bobby wrapped around her finger. They were still in the ambiguous stage, and she hadn't let Bobby have his way yet. She was saving their first time for a big payoff.
"Baby, don't cry. It breaks my heart. I'll spend more money and find more people to help. But the other party is really tricky; I can't find out anything about them," Bobby said, not wanting to disappoint Sophia but needing to be honest.
