Chapter 32 Danniel Lee

Charles didn't rush to call Luna. Instead, he had Max pull up the café's surveillance footage to reconstruct the entire incident.

After watching the footage, he understood what had happened.

Although Luna wasn't trying to snag a rich husband, her actions still left him somewhat disappointed.

She was unreliable, and so were her friends.

He also reflected on himself, realizing he hadn't thought through the decision to try living with Luna for a month.

He had assumed that with his capabilities, he could easily handle the month.

He had oversimplified the secret marriage.

He thought that if Luna behaved herself, giving her a status wouldn't affect his life, and they wouldn't intersect in other aspects.

But marriage wasn't that simple.

He was someone who disliked trouble. His daily work was already busy enough. Luna's peculiar relatives and the special nature of her job meant her life would never be peaceful.

There were also many trivial issues waiting for her.

He and Luna needed to have a good talk.

If they really couldn't get along, it would be better to part ways amicably.

Better to address it before things got ugly.

After careful consideration, Charles dialed Luna's number.

He wanted to ask her what time she'd be back.

When the call connected, a male voice answered.

"Hello."

"Where's Luna?"

Charles's voice was cold, yet it carried an inexplicable and oppressive aura.

"Luna went to the restroom. You are...?"

"Have her call me back."

Charles didn't even ask who the person was before hanging up.

Obviously, it was likely Warren who had a thing for her.

His coat was still at their place.

Warren put down the phone, inexplicably letting out a breath.

Was this arrogant and picky guy Luna's mistakenly married husband?

Just from his voice, he sounded like a tough character!

Would he bully Luna?

Although Warren had a crush on Luna, he wouldn't casually answer her phone. His phone had run out of battery, so he used Luna's phone to send a message to Joah and accidentally answered Charles's call.

"Warren, why are you daydreaming?"

Just as Warren was wondering how to explain, Luna and Summer returned.

After saying goodbye to those two bizarre blind date partners, they had come to a restaurant near where Luna was currently living.

When Warren found out, he insisted on joining them for dinner. Summer hadn't seen him for a few days, so she reluctantly agreed.

"Luna, I accidentally answered your phone just now. The person asked you to call back. It should be your... husband."

Warren already knew Luna wanted to continue trying to get along with the guy. He was resistant to that, but it was Luna's choice, so he had to respect it.

"Oh, it's okay."

Luna glanced at the caller ID, not minding. It was just Warren accidentally answering a call and Charles wouldn't eat her .

"You guys go ahead and eat. I'll return the call."

Luna got up and walked out of the restaurant, dialing back.

When the call connected, Charles's voice was as indifferent as ever.

"What time will you be back tonight? I want to talk to you."

His calm tone made Luna almost doubt her ears.

"Are you... okay?"

Luna wasn't used to it. She even wondered if Charles was sick.

"Just answer if you're free or not."

"I'm free. I'll be home around eight. I picked up Eric..."

"I'll pick up Eric. I'll be waiting for you at home."

"Okay."

After Luna finished speaking, the call was hung up.

Warren looked out through the restaurant's floor-to-ceiling window, feeling uneasy.

Summer glanced at Warren and shook her head helplessly.

How could she not know Warren's feelings?
