Chapter 197 You Again, You Cripple
Luna called out, "Eric?" She recognized his voice and turned around, surprised to see him.
Eric gave her a nod, signaling her not to worry. He rolled his wheelchair forward a bit. "Remember me? At the wholesale market, your kid sprayed me with water while you and your husband used him as a distraction to steal. I saw it all, and the vendors can back me up."
Luna was stunned, thinking, 'When did this happen? How did I not know?'
Eric continued, "Luna, it was when you went to buy seafood. Charles and I were waiting. While Charles was on a call, this kid saw me in a wheelchair and sprayed me with a water gun. Charles confronted his parents, and they tried to blame me, saying I stole the water gun. Charles suggested checking the surveillance footage, and they backed down. The kid's dad made him apologize, but he refused and blurted out that his parents used him to steal. I don't know what happened after that, but I'm sure the vendors didn't let them off easy."
Eric laid out the whole story. The kid's mom looked like she wanted to beat Eric up. "You again, you cripple! I get it; you guys are in this together! Last time, Charles falsely accused my son, and now Luna is abusing her power, right? You're targeting us on purpose! This is too much!" She thought she had Luna cornered, shouting and stomping her feet.
Luna took a deep breath. "If what my brother said is true, there will be evidence at the wholesale market! Don't drag me and my brother into this. I just heard about it. Whatever you three did, there will be traces."
The kid's mom started to tremble. Just then, a policeman responsible for the area walked over. Seeing the kid and his mom, he frowned. "You again?"
Luna saw her colleague recognized them and asked seriously, "What's their deal?"
The colleague shook his head, looking frustrated. "They're repeat offenders. The whole family uses the kid to steal from vendors at the market. They just got out after compensating the vendors."
As he finished, the kid's mom lost her arrogance. She lowered her head and covered her face, afraid the neighbors would take pictures.
By now, everyone knew who she was; news would spread fast in the community. If the landlord found out, they probably wouldn't rent to her family anymore.
Luna filled her colleague in. The kid's mom was the first to get into the police car, and since no one was home, the kid had to go with her.
Suddenly, before getting in the car, the kid flipped Luna off and threatened, "You! Just wait! I won't let you off! I'll kill you someday! I'm a minor!" His threats were more fluent than TV villains, clearly influenced by his parents.
The neighbors were shocked and scared. Luckily, they found out what kind of people this family was today. If they stayed in the neighborhood, who knew what trouble they'd cause.
Theodore had to go back with Luna's colleague. Before leaving, he waved at Luna. Luna increasingly felt that this old man was dignified and composed, much like Charles.
