Chapter 22 Her Spiritual Support

Charles was also a representative of high intelligence. Based on Luna and Warren's current reactions, as well as her job and the lack of information on Warren, he deduced that they were most likely on a mission.

But when he saw Warren put his hand on Luna's shoulder in the surveillance footage, even though Charles knew they were on a mission, he still felt annoyed.

Actually, it was his own oversight. He should have considered Luna's job background earlier and shouldn't have made a one-month agreement with her.

Instead, he should  divorced her directly after a month.

As for Ashley, he would delay as long as possible.

That way, he wouldn't have to  avoid her at a chariety galla.

"Tell the organizers that I have an urgent matter and need to leave. Max will attend on my behalf."

Charles got up and left, leaving Max Carter to take over unexpectedly.

After leaving the venue, Charles, sitting in the Rolls-Royce, sneered coldly.

Even he had to avoid Ms. Brown!

Charles looked down at the photos Max had sent over. One of them was a picture of Warren and Luna from their college days.

There were other people in the photo, but Luna stood out the most. She was the kind of person who looked youthful and beautiful without any makeup, someone you could spot immediately.

In the group photo, there was a girl between Warren and Luna, but Warren was looking at Luna over the girl's shoulder, his eyes clearly showing a naive and innocent crush.

Charles locked his phone and rubbed his temples.

That self-righteous, hot-tempered woman actually had someone who liked her?

"Mr. Lee, we've arrived at Mountain Vista Gardens."

Driver Nick Smith parked at the intersection opposite Mountain Vista Gardens.

Charles had originally planned to stay here tonight, as he still needed to put on a show for his mother. But when thinking that  Luna had ruined a good evening gala,he felt annoyed.

He decided to stop by the cafe to greet Sandra before heading back to the villa, since he was already here.

As soon as he entered the cafe, he saw Eric pushing a wheelchair towards him.

"Charles, have some chocolate."

Eric recognized him and handed Charles his only piece of chocolate.

The chocolate had been in Eric's pocket for a while and had melted, carrying the warmth of Eric's palm.

"Good boy."

Charles couldn't keep a stern face towards a fifteen-year-old boy with a rare disease. He patted Eric's head, took the chocolate, and casually put it in his pocket.

Seeing him accept the chocolate, Eric gave him a pale but bright smile.

"Sandra, sorry to trouble you."

Charles greeted Sandra warmly.

Sandra was his mentor, who had taught him painting and manners since he was a child.

When Sandra reached retirement age, Charles wanted to buy her a villa for her retirement, but Sandra refused and opened a cafe nearby instead.

When Charles agreed to register, he bought a house in the same neighborhood  for Sandra, making it convenient for her to keep an eye on Luna.

Sandra came out, her expression not as calm and indifferent as when she saw Luna earlier, but with a gentle, warm smile.

"Mr. Lee is here..."

"Sandra..." Charles gave Sandra a look, signaling her not to call him Mr. Lee.

Sandra smiled apologetically. She was used to it and couldn't change it immediately.

"Have you had dinner?" Charles looked at Eric , who was staring at the direction of the house, clearly wanting to go back.

"We've eaten, and so has he." Sandra's gaze towards Eric was also different from before.

"I'll take him back. You should close up early and rest."

Charles said goodbye to Sandra and pushed Eric's wheelchair back.

Eric let out a long breath, seemingly eager to return.

Charles didn't think much of it. When they got downstairs, he carried Eric upstairs first, settled him in the living room, and then went back downstairs to bring up the wheelchair.

Because Eric was there, he couldn't let the bodyguards help, so Charles had to do it himself.

After finishing everything, Eric tugged on his sleeve and made a request. ThenCharles know why he was eager to return.

Charles felt inexplicably glad that he had come back.
