Chapter 95 Ms. Neleson, Please Behave Yourself
Charles heard someone call him Charlie. His first reaction was to look at Luna, who had her back to him. Seeing that she hadn't heard, he breathed a sigh of relief.
Just then, a petite figure hurried past his car and headed straight for the Rolls-Royce behind, brushing past Charles. It was Evelyn.
Evelyn had been hiding in a coffee shop across the street. She found out that Charlie had left at noon and guessed he might return to the office in the evening, so she waited across the street. She saw Charlie's convoy arrive at the entrance, but no one got out of the car. Excitedly, Evelyn ran over.
Evelyn never expected that the person she had been thinking about was in the silver-gray business car she had just brushed past. She walked up to the Rolls-Royce and banged on the window.
"Charlie! I know you're in there! I have something to say to you! Please give me five minutes!"
Evelyn's voice was loud, attracting a lot of onlookers. Luna, having finished talking with her assistant, turned around and saw Evelyn banging on the window of a luxury car.
The bodyguard, Mike, got out of the passenger seat and signaled the driver to roll down the window for Evelyn.
"Ms. Nelson, Mr. Lee is not in the car. It's no use shouting."
Mike's face was stern, showing great impatience with Evelyn. Mr. Lee had rejected her countless times. She had been chasing him since high school, from the Bright City to abroad, and now back to the Bright City. If Mr. Lee were going to give her a chance, he would have done so long ago. Why was she so stubborn?
"Charlie is really not in the car." She muttered.
Evelyn looked carefully, and Charles was indeed not inside. Her eyes were full of disappointment.
"Then give me his new phone number, or Facebook account."
Evelyn was persistent. If she couldn't see him, hearing his voice would be enough.
"Ms. Nelson, please behave yourself! I won't give you his phone number or Facebook account."
Mike's expression was cold and unyielding.
Charles's attention was entirely on Luna. Seeing her just quietly watching and not speaking up for Evelyn, he found her increasingly pleasing to the eye. He and Luna hadn't even added each other on Facebook yet, so why should he give it to Evelyn?
"How am I not having any self-respect? I just want to clear things up with him so he won't avoid me in the future. I want to be just friends with him. Is that too much to ask?"
Evelyn was resolute. She was a stubborn person, but Luna's words had also enlightened her. It was fine for her to pursue love, but she shouldn't drag innocent people into it.
So now she wanted to change her approach, closely following Charlie until she could see him. Even if she couldn't, she wouldn't act impulsively but would patiently wait for the next opportunity.
Mike felt he couldn't reason with Evelyn, so he simply got back into the car and ignored her. Before getting in, Mike glanced at the business car 98 feet away and took out his phone to message Charles.
Mike: [Mr. Lee, do you need us to drive away to distract Evelyn? Ms. Brown has seen her.]
Just as Mike put down his phone, Luna was already walking towards Evelyn. Mike and the driver's expressions were quite dramatic.
"Ms. Nelson." Luna spoke, already standing next to Evelyn.
Mike signaled the driver to roll up the window. The bodyguard, Michael, who had brought the business car for Charles, was someone Luna had seen before. At this moment, Michael had already instinctively curled up, minimizing his presence.
"Luna. What are you doing here?" Evelyn turned and saw Luna, forcing a smile, but her haggard face and large dark circles were unmistakable.
"My... my husband brought me here to pick up some part-time work documents."
Luna pointed to the silver-gray business car not far away. Although she and Charles were secretly married, Evelyn had no interaction with her daily life, so Luna didn't need to hide it from her.
