Chapter 222 Jealous? Absolutely Not!

Charles decided to wait for Luna to come back and explain herself.

Although he felt extremely anxious, he constantly reminded himself to stay calm.

He had just re-added Luna on Facebook and wanted to cherish it.

As for Luna, she did go to see Warren, but it was to meet up with Summer.

Summer had a falling out with her mother, who wanted her to go abroad. Summer disagreed and was also reluctant to go on blind dates, fearing a repeat of past incidents.

Selina Blackwood knew Summer was being difficult on purpose and slapped her in anger.

After being hit, Summer ran away from home in such a hurry that she didn't bring her ID, making it impossible to check into a hotel. She contacted Luna for help.

Luna and Warren found a place for her to stay for a while. When Luna returned, she didn't let Warren drive her back; instead, she called Sam Perez for a ride.

When she got home and saw Charles waiting for her, Luna thought he still had work to do.

"Working late again?" Luna pointed at the documents in his hand.

Seeing her return, Charles let out a long breath, closed the documents, and walked over to her.

"You didn't bring your phone. Warren called you."

Charles said casually.

Luna responded with an "oh" and checked her phone.

"Summer had an urgent matter tonight. She told both Warren and me. We just got her settled."

Luna didn't go into details as it was Summer's privacy, and Charles wasn't one to gossip.

"As long as she's settled. Let me know if you need any help. Next time, let me pick you up if it's this late."

After Charles finished speaking, Luna changed her clothes, washed her hands, and sat in the living room drinking water.

"It's fine. Did you forget what I do? A couple of small-time thugs can't get near me."

"Better to be safe. Did Warren drive you back?"

Charles tried to keep his expression natural and casual when he heard Warren's name.

In reality, he felt inexplicably nervous.

Luna shook her head, "No, I asked him to stay with Summer a bit longer. I took Sam's car back."

"I accidentally saw Warren's Facebook message to you. You guys even have a regular meeting spot."

Charles sat on the other side of the sofa, holding a water cup. His thumb seemingly casually rubbed the rim, and his eyes were somewhat hazy as he looked at Luna.

Luna was about to answer, but suddenly felt that he had a lot of questions tonight.

It seemed like he was making small talk.

Luna glanced at him suspiciously and teased, "Why are you asking so many questions? Are you worried there's something between Warren and me? Are you jealous?"

Luna's tone was light, but Charles felt a tightness in his chest.

His fingers gripping the cup tightened, veins bulging on the back of his hand.

"Jealousy is the last thing I'd ever feel! Jealousy will never find its way to me! I just think we're still within the one-month period, and I'm afraid you'll forget you're married when you get busy. I'm just asking casually. Do you think I like meddling in your business?"

Charles put on an indifferent attitude, but inside, he felt inexplicably flustered.

Jealous? Impossible! This anxious feeling he had was not jealousy! Absolutely not!

Luna shrugged, knowing he couldn't take a joke.

"Right, right, you're absolutely right! Fine, after this month, I'll go have fun and make up for the lost time."

Luna's words made Charles's face darken, and he glared at her coldly.

Was she really looking forward to the end of this month?

Did she have no attachment at all?

"By the way, the one-month period is almost up, right? How many days left?"

Luna suddenly thought of something and looked at him with a puzzled expression.

Charles's heart started pounding.
