Chapter 26 He Is Cuter Than You
Charles, who had returned to his room, was feeling frustrated. He hadn't expected Luna to stay up so late last night and still get up so early in the morning.
His hands moved quickly to button up his shirt.
He wasn't used to being improperly dressed in front of strangers.
When Charles came out, Luna was waiting for him in the living room.
"Mr. Lee, can I put a drawing board and a telescope on the balcony for Eric?"
After Luna finished speaking, Charles walked to the shoe cabinet to put on his shoes.
"Do you know how much a good telescope costs?"
He asked because Luna wanted to go Dutch. With her finances, she couldn't cover even a fraction, let alone half.
"We bought one before , which costs over three hundred dollars. Although it can't compare to a professional one, Eric said it was very clear. But after it broke at Ella's house, I couldn't find it."
Luna knew that Ella lied her.
Because later, she saw an identical one at a neighbor's house on the first floor, with the same scratches on the tripod.
She suspected Ella had secretly sold it to the neighbor.
At that time, she was busy with graduation and couldn't pursue it, so she let it go.
"Was the teleoscope less than a thousand dollars? What can you see with that?"
Charles asked.
Was she sure a telescope under a thousand dollars could see stars?
"You get what you pay for! A thousand dollars is enough. No need to go Dutch. I'll cover this."
Luna thought Charles was afraid she would ask him for half the money.
"It's not that I'm stingy, but I think if you're going to buy something like this, you should get a good one. I know a place which sells them and it can give us a discount. I can buy it as a gift to..."
Charles trailed off.
What was her brother's name again?
Both their names were such a mouthful.
"My brother's name is Eric Brown, and I'm Luna! Mr. Lee!"
Luna's tone was calm.
She hadn't expected Charles to remember anything about her anyway.
After all, it was just a one-month stay.
Once the month was up, she and Eric would move out. She didn't want to take advantage of Charles.
"I said I'll buy it, so I'll buy it! I can use it too. It's settled."
Charles left it at that and walked away.
Luna turned to tidy up the living room and saw Charles's suit jacket thrown on the sofa. She didn't want to touch it, especially since he had said not to mess with his things. But seeing a tire mark on it, Luna couldn't help but pick it up and look at it.
"It got dirty when he helped me carry the wheelchair upstairs yesterday."
Eric had woken up and wheeled himself out.
"Luna, would you pleasewash it for Charle?"Eric suggested.
Luna was silent.
'Wash Charles's jacket?'
But thinking that the suit got dirty because of Eric, she felt she should clean it.
However, Luna wasn't one to act on her own. Before washing it, she called Charles.
At that moment, Charles had just driven his electric car out of the neighborhood and stopped at the corner of the next street. He handed the car over to his bodyguard and got into a Rolls-Royce parked by the roadside.
Just as he settled in, Luna's call came through. Charles answered with a cold expression.
"Mr. Lee, your suit jacket in the living room got dirty when you helped carry the wheelchair yesterday. I'll clean it for you. Does it need dry cleaning?"
Luna tried to keep it brief.
But Charles's tone was as if Luna owed him millions.
"Don't touch my things, including my clothes!"
With that, Charles hung up, his face as stern as ever.
On the other end, Luna laughed in exasperation.
This man... who could put up with him?
Fine, she wouldn't touch it! It saved her the trouble!
Luna didn't have much to do today. The suspect from yesterday was being followed up by other colleagues.
She had planned to spend more time at home with Eric, but a phone call disrupted that peace.
