Chapter 190 I'll Slap You and Then Kick You Out of the Car!

Charles thought Luna was about to call him a pervert, but things flipped so fast he almost couldn't keep up.

When he snapped out of it, Luna was looking at him sincerely.

In his mind, an angel and a devil were arguing.

The angel said, "Be a man and own up! You kissed her, admit it! What kind of guy lets a girl take the blame?"

The devil said, "Do you want her to slap you and call you a pervert? Do you want to end your cohabitation early?"

The angel said, "Luna's sensible! If you tell the truth, she'll understand."

The devil said, "You're too naive! You don't get women! Test her if you don't believe me!"

Charles was silent, unsure what to do. Luna thought he was really mad.

"Um... are you okay? Was I... too much just now?" Luna asked, feeling uneasy.

Besides hugging and kissing him, did she do anything else inappropriate? If she had, her parents would've taken her to a psychologist long ago.

Charles cleared his throat and tentatively asked, "If I had kissed you, what would you think of me?"

Luna, relieved by his normal tone, said, "I'd slap you and kick you out of the car. But if you were in my situation, that'd be different."

The devil in Charles's mind said, "Did you hear that? She'd slap you and kick you out! Do you still dare to admit it?"

Charles fell silent again and decided to let the misunderstanding continue. He didn't want to ruin the rapport he had with Luna. He was already thinking about how to avoid divorcing her in a month.

"Forget it, you didn't do it on purpose. I was merely kissed by you; I don't blame you anymore," Charles said, waving it off.

Luna blinked. Though forgiven, she felt something was off.

When they got home, Eric was already asleep. He could walk short distances without a wheelchair but was getting weaker. Whenever he went out, he'd be so exhausted he'd sleep for over ten hours.

Luna felt at ease after seeing him disinfect his hands and backpack before closing his room door. Eric's fragile immune system left him vulnerable to sickness without proper hygiene maintenance. It was always hard for him to recover once he fell ill, so Luna was particularly mindful of this.

Charles went to shower while Luna sat in the living room mending her sweater. She had worn a spare jacket from work and brought the sweater home.

She was halfway through mending it when Charles came out in his loungewear. The sight of her diligently patching up the sweater he had damaged caught him off guard, then his expression transitioning from astonishment to a deep sense of gravity.

"How much was that sweater? If you like it, just buy another one tomorrow. Didn't I give you a card? It's still in the hallway cabinet, right? Use my card to buy it," Charles said.

He knew Luna hadn't used the card he gave her; it was still in the hallway cabinet. He went to get the card and handed it to her. He didn't want Luna to live so frugally. They were married now, and she wasn't the type to spend money recklessly. It was normal for her to use his card to buy clothes, especially since he had torn the sweater.

Seeing his somber expression, Luna guessed he thought she was being overly frugal. She stopped what she was doing, looked at him gently, and asked calmly, "Do my efforts to mend the sweater stir up sympathy within you?"
