Chapter 233 You're So Handsome, What So Shy?

Charles knew that coming here might mean he would run into members of the Nelson family and be easily recognized, but he came anyway.

Because this was the first time Luna had invited him out for a meal, and he had no reason to refuse her kindness.

He specifically instructed Mike and the others to keep an eye on every corner outside and notify him immediately if any members of the Nelson family appeared.

The two went to get their favorite foods, and Luna noticed that Charles was following her closely.

Whatever she took, Charles would take a bit of the same.

Anyone who didn't know better might think it was his first time at a buffet.

Sometimes, when Charles was too lazy to get food himself, he would ask Luna to get it for him.

He really enjoyed the feeling of being inseparable from Luna while they were out.

"Why don't you get what you want yourself? Stop following me. I've already paid, so don't worry about me skipping out on the bill."

Luna teased him with a smile, but she could tell that Charles was just being lazy and didn't want to put any thought into what to eat.

Actually, there was another reason Luna didn't know. Charles had gotten used to her cooking lately, and to him, anything not made by Luna tasted the same.

"I just want to follow you, is that not allowed?"

Charles, with his typically strong and domineering face, said something that sounded like a child's sulking, yet it didn't seem out of place on his otherwise stoic face.

Luna felt a mix of envy and jealousy.

How did he get such a perfect face?

It was flawless from every angle, and no matter the situation, it was always impeccable. Several times, she couldn't resist the urge to pinch it to see if it was real.

Seeing Luna staring at his face in a daze, Charles raised his hand to touch his chin, showing a bewildered yet alluringly innocent expression.

"Why are you staring at my face? Is there something on it?"

Charles felt a flutter in his heart under her gaze. If anyone else looked at him like that, he would have frozen them with a glare, but Luna's gaze made him feel a rush of warmth and excitement.

"You're so handsome, are you afraid of being looked at? You won't charge me for staring at you, will you?"

Luna averted her gaze and smiled as she picked up a few pieces of roast chicken.

She realized she couldn't keep staring at Charles's handsome face, especially his deep, dark eyes, which seemed to have a powerful force that could unknowingly draw her soul in.

Charles was amused by her words and he thoughtfully picked up a few vegetable pancakes for her.

"Am I that stingy? Look all you want! You can stare at me all night when we get home. Not only will I not charge you, but I might even pay you."

Charles liked this relaxed and carefree version of Luna tonight.

It made him see endless possibilities for their future.

Not just for a month, but for countless months to come.

"Now that I know you better, I know you're not that kind of person. But can you honestly say you weren't stingy before? I mean emotionally!

Once, I accidentally touched your finger, and you immediately pulled away and shook your hand, making me feel like I was a virus."

Luna unceremoniously brought up old grievances, but there was no anger between them, only a harmonious and humorous atmosphere.

"That won't happen anymore. Not only will I not pull away, but I'll also hold your hand, just like now."

As Charles finished speaking, he suddenly reached out and held Luna's hand that was about to pick up the tongs.

He had mustered up the courage to take this step.

Tomorrow would mark one month since they got their marriage license, and he wanted to make a breakthrough in their relationship tonight, rather than remaining in a mundane relationship under the same roof.
