Chapter 127 There's Someone in My Heart That No One Can Replace

Warren waved his hand frantically when Joah brought up setting him up with someone.

"No need, there's someone in my heart that no one can replace."

Warren's words carried a weight beyond his years.

Joah took a drag of his cigarette and remarked thoughtfully, "When it comes to feelings, whether someone can be replaced is secondary. What's crucial is finding the right person. But if they're already taken, it's best to back off before things get messy."

Joah, with his seasoned detective instincts, immediately noticed that Warren was not just in love but deeply conflicted about it. The Warren he knew was a driven young man. If it were merely a fleeting crush, he wouldn't be so torn up.

There had to be something complicated about the person Warren was in love with. He hoped Warren would heed his advice.

After Joah left, Warren muttered to himself, "Charles shouldn't be her partner. It's a complete mistake."

HarmonyHaven Hotel

Anna took a cab over and hid in a discreet corner of the lobby. She wore an inconspicuous casual outfit, along with sunglasses and a hat.

After waiting for a while, she saw Ashley walk in with a middle-aged man. That must be her husband. Anna hadn't seen him before because when Ashley had her accident, Vincent was abroad and only returned the next day.

Anna guessed it from seeing Ashley holding the man's arm. The lobby manager saw Ashley and Vincent and immediately approached them with a respectful and cautious attitude.

Seeing this, Anna felt a surge of secret joy. If the lobby manager at HarmonyHaven Hotel was so polite to Vincent and Ashley, it seemed Charles was indeed related to Charlie Lee, probably a cousin or something. This revelation only strengthened her resolve not to give up on Charles.

Anna took the opportunity to follow behind Vincent and Ashley. She planned to sit at a distance and keep an eye them, regardless of which table they went to. If they opted for a private room, she would discreetly watch from the hallway. Once she saw a young couple enter, she knew it would be Charles and his mistakenly married wife. She would then find a chance to introduce herself, outshining the other woman.

But to Anna's surprise, the lobby manager led Vincent and Ashley into a private elevator. Seeing the elevator doors close and stop at the top floor, Anna stepped forward to press the elevator button.

"Miss, which floor are you going to? I'll press the button for you," a gentle female voice sounded from behind; it was the elevator attendant.

Anna replied coldly, "No need, I'll do it myself."

She tried to press the button for the elevator Ashley had taken.

"Miss, this is a private elevator and doesn't stop at other floors," the attendant said politely.

"A private elevator? Who just went up then?" Anna's eyes lit up.

"Sorry, Miss, I can't disclose customer information. Which floor are you going to?" the attendant remained patient.

"I know the couple who just went up. We came together, but I fell behind. Just let me in," Anna insisted, trying to press the button again.

The attendant looked troubled.

In the shadows, Max stood with his arms crossed, watching the scene unfold. He had seen women try to cozy up to Mr. Lee's parents before, aiming to become the daughter-in-law of the Lee family. But this woman didn't fit the usual profile of a socialite!

Just as Anna and the attendant were at an impasse, the elevator doors opened again. Only Ashley walked out. Seeing Ashley, Anna pretended to be very surprised.

"Auntie, is it really you? I thought I was seeing things!"
