Chapter 67 You Really Don't Know What's Good for You
Luna didn't expect Charles to offered to lend her a hand, especially with her friend's matter.
He used to be very averse to anything around her.
"I reckon it's unnecessary at the moment. Tipping them off wouldn't be wise. Let's handle this discreetly.."
Luna said as she picked some pasta and bacon from a bowl and gave it to Eric.
The three of them shared two bowls of pasta, finishing every last bit.
Charles couldn't remember the last time he had a late-night snack, but Luna's cooking suited his taste.
Seeing Luna yawn as she got up to clear the dishes, Charles took the dishes from her hands.
"It's too late. Have some rest. You have work tomorrow. I'll wash the dishes."
Hearing that Charles was going to wash the dishes, Luna couldn't help but flatter him.
"Charles, you do have some good qualities."
Charles glared at her, about to drop everything, but Luna quickly made a gesture of sealing her lips.
Charles twitched the corner of his mouth and turned into the kitchen.
With his back to Luna, he smiled lightly.
When he finished washing the dishes and came out, he saw Luna already asleep on the couch.
Luna had intended to digest a bit before going to sleep, but she was too tired.
Charles frowned, glanced around, and found a blanket in his room. When he was about 3 feet away from Luna, he tossed the blanket over.
It landed perfectly on Luna.
If she liked sleeping on the couch, so be it!
But before he could turn around, Luna moved her arm, and the blanket slid to the floor.
Charles's face darkened.
This woman couldn't even sleep without causing trouble!
Fine, let her freeze, then!
Charles started to depart, only to inexplicably return, contemplating whether to escort her to her room. Considering the chilly conditions of the living area, he pondered the risks of her catching a cold if left to slumber there throughout the night.
But their bedrooms were off-limits to each other!
And he never intended to have any physical contact with Luna under the same roof.
He absolutely rejected that.
As Charles hesitated, Luna turned over on the couch, almost falling to the floor.
Charles instinctively reached out and caught her, holding her in his arms
Luna, still half-asleep, instinctively wrapped her arms around Charles's neck.
Charles lowered his head, intending to wake her, but he accidentally brushed his lips against Luna's cheek.
A gentle kiss, as ephemeral as a dragonfly skimming the water's surface, should have made no impact. Yet, Charles found his heart fiercely stirred.
It was his first kiss!
Charles couldn't understand how he ended up kissing her. This wasn't some cheesy TV drama where a fall could lead to a kiss!
Luna, feeling the warm breath on her face, groggily opened her eyes and saw Charles's handsome face magnified in front of her.
Luna's immediate response was to forcefully push Charles aside, resulting in his abrupt fall to the ground.
"What are you doing?" Luna scolded Charles.
Fortunately, the living room had a carpet, so Charles wasn't hurt.
"Luna! You're so ungrateful!"
Charles sat on the floor, glaring at her in anger, forgetting to stand up.
If his siblings saw this, he would lose all his authority as their older brother.
"How dare you say that to me! Who told you to..."
Luna was about to retort but saw a blanket on the floor. It reminded her that she had a habit of kicking off blankets and falling asleep quickly.
She might have misunderstood Charles.
"I reckoned you were attempting to exploit me during my slumber."
Luna said honestly.
Charles was so angry.
Did he want to take advantage of her?
She was dreaming!
"Luna, you should look in a mirror!"
When Charles said this, he never imagined that he would desperately wish for Luna to take advantage of him in the future!
