"Charles, did you really agree?" Ashley asked hesitantly.
"Yeah, I did. But since I'm married now, I think it's better if Luna comes along when I meet Anna."
Charles wanted to bring Luna, and Ashley didn't object.
Her son was stubborn. If he didn't want to meet someone, he wouldn't force himself.
She just worried Anna might feel awkward.
"Mom, I gotta go. Need to get back and peel crab meat for Luna." Charles hung up the phone.
Ashley was stunned and even a bit jealous.
Was Charles really that attentive to Luna?
She felt he should be peeling crab meat for her since she raised him, but it was different for her daughter-in-law.
After a while, Ashley realized her thinking was off. Was this the start of mother-in-law and daughter-in-law issues?
When Charles hung up and returned, Luna was discussing the demolition of the old house with Eric.
Even though Eric wasn't eighteen yet, Luna told him a lot. She worried that if something happened to her, Eric would know what to do.
Of course, she hoped that day would never come.
"Eric, I heard the policy for demolishing old houses is coming soon. If we want a new house, it'll take a year and a half to get the keys, and we'll move to Emerald Isle. We have to draw lots for a house and pay nearly twenty thousand dollars for a 654 square feet one since our old house is small."
"Plus, renovations will cost almost twenty thousand dollars, which I can't afford. If we take the money, it'll be in our account in three months, and all the compensation will be over two hundred thousand dollars. We can't buy a house in the original place, but we can get an 860 square feet two-bedroom apartment in SkyHaven District for about a hundred thousand dollars."

Luna thought this was the best plan for her and Eric.
Eric took a bite of crab meat and said, "So we won't live at Charles's house anymore?"
Luna was taken aback. She lowered her head and stayed silent.
She didn't reject Charles as much now, but in her future plans, there was no place for him.
Seeing this, Charles felt a strange discomfort.
He adjusted his emotions, walked back casually, and continued peeling crab meat for Luna. But his gaze at her became more complex.
After the buffet, the three of them headed to the parking lot. Just as Luna and Eric were about to get in the car, they heard a heated argument nearby.
"You lunatic! Stop bothering me! So what if you're a cop? I heard you got suspended for misconduct! Stop acting all high and mighty!" A sharp female voice, full of disdain.
"Just tell me where Lily Kline is, and I won't bother you! Otherwise, I'll follow you every day. Let's see how you do business then!" A man's voice rang out, and Luna was stunned.
This voice... it sounded like Paul.
Luna started recording with her phone and walked towards the sound.
In the corner of the parking lot, she saw Paul arguing with a provocatively dressed young girl.
When the girl saw Luna, she pulled down her collar, exposing her chest, and shouted,
"Harassment! He's harassing me! Call the police and arrest him!"
Paul saw Luna, shock flashing in his eyes. He let go of the girl's arm and quickly turned to leave.
