Chapter 211 Ill Intentions

Sophia looked at Bobby with admiration, and it was no wonder he only bought her a $2,000 necklace.

After dinner, Bobby cuddled with Sophia in the car, completely unaware that a hidden camera had already captured them clearly.

Although Bobby hadn't taken things further with Sophia, tonight's hugging and kissing made him feel ecstatic.

When he got home and saw the messy living room, Bobby's face instantly darkened.

He hadn't eaten enough at the restaurant and wanted to cook some noodles, but the kitchen was even messier, making it impossible to enter.

Just as Bobby was about to start yelling at Emily, he suddenly remembered the real reason he came home tonight.

He was there to delete the domestic violence video from Emily's phone.

Bobby glanced at his phone; it was just past ten. Emily was probably still awake. He took out the thermos cup a client had given him and tried to open the bedroom door, only to find it locked from the inside.

Bobby patiently knocked on the door.

"Emily, it's me. Open the door; I have something for you."

Bobby's previously arrogant attitude was gone, and his voice was much softer.

Emily had just put Tommy to sleep and cleaned up the messy room. Hearing Bobby's voice, she immediately felt that he was up to no good.

Emily wanted to see what Bobby was up to, so she walked over and opened the door. Bobby immediately shoved the thermos cup into her arms.

"Emily, I was wrong before. My attitude tonight was bad because the client was too difficult. I wasn't taking it out on you. Don't be mad at me. Was the $300 I gave you enough? If not, I'll transfer another $300 to you."

Bobby's sudden change in attitude made Emily pretend not to notice. She played along casually, saying, "We need to pick up Tommy's formula. It's about $350 a box. I got the last one, so it's your turn this time. You can just Venmo me for it."

Bobby's mouth twitched; he hadn't expected Emily to be so direct.

He only made $2,000 a month, and with side gigs, he barely made $30,000 a year. Recently, he'd started dating Sophia, and a single dinner date had set him back $300. He'd also splurged on a necklace for her, which left him completely strapped for cash this month.

But whenever he thought about the domestic violence footage Emily was holding over him, he knew he had no choice but to pay up.

Bobby clenched his jaw and reluctantly Venmoed $300 to Emily.

"$300?" Emily confirmed the payment and looked at him mockingly.

Bobby chuckled, "What's the difference between $300 and $350? Besides, I brought you a gift! This thermos cup is from a big international brand. You can take it with you when you take Tommy for a walk nearby. It keeps drinks hot all day, so don't drink soda; it's bad for your health."

After saying that, Bobby grabbed Emily's hand.

Emily shook it off with a look of disgust.

"If there's nothing else, go to the study. I'm going to sleep."

Emily deliberately tried to push Bobby to see how long he could hold out.

"Emily, we're a married couple. This is my bedroom too. The bed in the study is too uncomfortable. Without you and Tommy, I can't sleep well. Let me sleep here tonight. By the way, there's no surveillance in our bedroom, right? We wouldn't want our private moments recorded. I've heard there are a lot of criminals hacking home surveillance systems these days."

Bobby finally revealed his true intentions.

When Emily heard him mention surveillance, she understood what was going on.

So he was after the surveillance footage.

"Our surveillance system hasn't worked for a long time. The memory card is full, and I haven't cleared it. It's just for show. Besides, who would put surveillance in the bedroom?"

As Emily finished speaking, she could clearly feel Bobby breathe a sigh of relief.

But Emily felt a deep, bone-chilling sadness.
