Chapter 13 Unlucky Luna
Charles saw Luna constantly making phone calls and suddenly remembered that he had previously blocked her.
Could she be calling him?
"Stop the car."
Charles ordered, and the driver smoothly parked the car at the corner.
Just as Charles removed Luna's number from the blacklist, an unfamiliar number came through.
Charles chuckled, but his laughter was full of sarcasm.
"Mr. Lee."
Just as Luna was about to give up, the call miraculously connected. She even found it unbelievable.
"Speak," Charles's voice was low, still carrying that arrogant tone.
Luna took a deep breath and said solemnly, "I want to accept your proposal, but I need to bring my brother with me."
"No way!"
Charles refused without a second thought.
Because she agreed not to work on their marriage but for her brother.
'Her motives were impure, so why should I agree?'Charles thought.
"I hate parasites the most!" Charles said bluntly.
Parasite?
Luna laughed in anger.
It was the first time someone had used that word to describe her!
Anyone who knew her situation wouldn't say that.
"You're cold and heartless!"
Luna retorted and hung up decisively.
She shouldn't have reached out to Charles, given their starkly contrasting values.
Even if he didn't want to get married again and she just wanted a place to stay, they wouldn't get along.
Charles, on the other end, was once again insulted by Luna.
Last time she wanted to act like his elder, and this time she called him cold and heartless!
Charles's expression was really ugly now.
As the first son of the Lee family, he had been groomed as the successor since childhood, with strict rules governing his every action.
'I had never had the chance to be insulted over the phone. This was a first time that I was scolded !'Charles thought.
The bodyguards and assistants all heard Luna's loud accusation of him being cold and heartless!
Luna's voice was so loud that it was hard for them to ignore.
At this moment, everyone in the car, except for Charles who had a grim face, was stunned and on edge.
They thought Mr. Lee would never look at Ms. Brown again!
By the roadside, it was now Luna's turn to block Charles.
She looked at the two suitcases behind her, the wheelchair, and Eric. Just as Luna was about to find a budget hotel for the night, a black business car slowly stopped in front of her.
The car door opened, and Charles stepped out from the driver's seat, walking straight towards her.
Every step he took exuded an aura of power and nobility.
His dark suit was meticulously tailored, his short hair neat and refined, and his features were sharp and handsome. He was a super handsome guy from any angle, though he looked a bit older, thirty.
Luna was momentarily stunned to see Charles.
"Get in the car! I'll take you to my place."
Charles was driving the bodyguard's business car, while the Rolls-Royce and other bodyguard cars were on the other side of the street.
Luna snapped back into reality, first loading the luggage into the car, then turning to push the wheelchair to the car.
"Help me lift Eric into the car."
As Luna spoke, Eric looked up at Charles and blinked.
Charles was momentarily taken aback by the delicate yet sickly pale face.
Encountering someone with such a rare disease for the first time, even someone as experienced as him, was taken aback by Eric's appearance.
Seeing Charles not moving, Luna thought he didn't agree to let Eric stay at his place and turned to unload the luggage.
"What are you doing?"
Charles frowned and spoke, his tone unfriendly.
Charles's attitude made Luna think he didn't accept Eric.
In that case, she wouldn't ride in his car either.
