Chapter 239 Ugly but Wishful
Alice started speaking in a familiar tone with familiar words.
Luna pointed to the sign on the table that read "Report Room."
"This is the report room. If you're not here to file a police report, please leave."
As soon as Luna finished speaking, Alice plopped down on the chair in front of her desk.
Ella and Lisa stood on either side, like Alice's two subordinates.
Ella glared at Luna with a face full of resentment.
Right now, she was having the hardest time at home.
Ethan was supposed to get a promotion, but because of that incident, it was no longer possible. He was throwing tantrums at home every day.
Travis had become the target of ridicule among colleagues and students at school. Some parents even anonymously called the education department, demanding that Travis be fired.
The parents said they didn't want their children to be taught by a teacher from such a morally corrupt family, fearing he would be a bad influence.
The school asked Travis to take a leave of absence for a while.
The household was filled with gloom every day, and sometimes conflicts would erupt.
Travis and Ethan both blamed her, saying it was her fault their jobs were affected.
Ella felt wronged. Wasn't she doing all this for them?
Yet now, they all blamed her and even told her to deal with Luna quickly or not come home at all.
Ella Brown never thought she was wrong. In her view, it was always Luna's fault. If Luna hadn't been so ungrateful, Travis and Ella's jobs wouldn't have been affected.
"You little brat, hiding from me every day! How else could I see you if I didn't come here? Just consider me here to file a report!"
Alice raised her head, looking indifferent.
Her face was full of disdain for the law.
Luna sneered and shook her head. "Do you know that filing a false report carries legal consequences?"
Alice glared, "What? Do you dare to arrest me? Come on, everyone! Look here! Luna is going to arrest her own grandmother!
I, as an elder, came to see her without even having breakfast, and she didn't even offer me a glass of water. Now she wants to arrest me! Do you think just because you work here, you can arrest anyone you want?
I'm sitting here today! Let's see who dares to move me!"
Alice adopted a shrewish stance, exuding a complete disregard for the law.
Ava, worried that the growing crowd would affect Luna, tugged at her sleeve.
"Why don't you go to the break room first? I'll handle this."
"Ava, no need. Their shamelessness is beyond your imagination."
Luna knew Ava was no match for Alice and her group and didn't want to drag Ava into it.
Besides, if she avoided them today, they would just come back tomorrow!
They had nothing better to do and could come every day!
"Ma'am, if you occupy the report room for an extended period, I can indeed detain you! You know exactly what this place is! Every word I say is in accordance with the law! If you don't believe me, try it!"
Luna's tone was harsh and cold, her gaze even more chilling and intimidating.
Her slender frame exuded an astonishing amount of energy, radiating a powerful and fearless aura.
Alice felt a bit intimidated by her gaze and was about to lose her temper when Ella quickly tugged at her arm.
"Mom, don't let her provoke you. We're here to discuss serious matters."
Ella's words reminded Alice.
Alice slapped the table and spoke in a commanding tone.
"I heard the demolition office called you? Have you decided whether you want the house or the compensation? If you ask me, the house is a good choice. Didn't I say last time? I can move in and help you look after it. With me there, you can rest easy even if you don't live there."
Alice's words made Luna sneer continuously.
Ava rolled her eyes in disdain. This old lady was ugly, but her thoughts were quite beautiful.
