Chapter 148 Do You Know What You Did Wrong?

Luna got Eric home and started cooking for him.

She had no clue the pig's trotter she gave Emily had caused a stir.

After finishing Eric's meal, Luna was about to call him when an unknown number rang.

She hesitated but answered.

"Luna, you know you messed up, right? Come see me near your old house." The voice left Luna stunned.

She wondered, 'What's going on?'

"Who is this?" Luna asked.

"You ungrateful girl, don't you recognize my voice? It's your grandma! I'm near your old house, haven't eaten yet. I see a Wendy's, so I'll grab a burger. Come pay the bill. Ella and I haven't had lunch." Alice spoke bossily.

Luna laughed in disbelief.

"Which grandma? The one by blood?" Recognizing the voice, Luna replied coldly.

Alice was about to blow up, but Ella stopped her and whispered, "Mom, we're here to clear things up, not fight. Let me handle this."

Ella took the phone, trying to sound sincere.

"Luna, it's Ella. Everything before was a misunderstanding. Lisa did all that stuff, not me or your grandma. She hired the online trolls and leaked the numbers."

"Alice already scolded her, and Lisa's too ashamed to face you. She asked us to call. You can't blame Alice; she's too old for this."

Luna shook her head silently.

She knew they'd blame each other when it mattered.

"If it was Lisa, have her call me. I haven't blocked her." Luna wasn't buying it.

"Let's talk in person. We're near the old house, and it's still standing. It’s been five or six years. I heard nearby demolitions got over a hundred grand!”

“Luna, keep an eye on this. When it gets demolished, handle it quickly. If needed, Alice and I can go to the developer and make a fuss. We need our family's money first!"

"Alice and I have been worried about you. Even though you misunderstood Alice, she doesn't blame you. Come out, let's meet and eat, and settle this."

Ella tried to change the subject, avoiding letting Luna talk to Lisa.

Lisa would curse them out.

Ella was eyeing Luna's parents' half-demolished house.

The area was prime, and nearby demolitions were compensated at over $300 per square foot. Luna's old house, at 484 square feet, was worth about $145,000. With other compensations, it was around $193,000.

Ella couldn't resist that money!

So she often brought Alice to check on the progress.

Luna knew they were shameless but didn't expect this level of self-deception.

"I don't have time for your nonsense. You know the truth. If you're wrong, admit it. I want a public apology online! Use the FoodieFusion account and admit you paid him to stir things up!"
