Chapter 49 Leave It to Me

"Anna, are you looking up the person you're getting a marriage license with? What happened? Did someone else snatch that good man away?"

Sophia knew a few things about Anna.

However, Anna had never let Sophia meet Ashley before.

Sophia was a professional homewrecker, so Anna was afraid Sophia would steal Charles.

Moreover, Ashley accepted Anna because she valued her clean background and kind heart.

If Ashley found out about Sophia's past, shemight look at Anna with suspicion.

"It's a bit complicated, but I don't know his driver's license number. I only know his name and the address of a suburban villa."

"Alright, give it to me and I'll have my brother look it up for you! But you know my brother doesn't do things for free..."

"Don't worry. I'll pay." Anna didn't say much, but she sneered inwardly.

This brother and sister duo were too greedy.

If Sophia didn't have some skills, she wouldn't have sought her out.

"Anna, if that good man really gets taken, you could ..."

"Sophia, let me handle this first! Even after I get married, I can still have fun. I need a man who can support me long-term. Haven't you always wanted to make things official with Bobby?"

Anna understood Sophia's implication.

Sophia wanted Anna to become a homewrecker like her.

Doing so would make it hard to marry a wealthy man later on. Even getting into a middle-class family would be difficult.

With information so accessible nowadays, anyone with some skills would do a background check.

Anna had worked hard to earn Ashley's trust.

Hearing Bobby's name, Sophia perked up.

She had her eye on a bag yesterday and planned to get Bobby to buy it for her today.

"Anna, leave it to me! Wait for my news!"

Sophia hung up and was about to find Bobby when she suddenly heard a knock on the door.

Her first reaction was to think it was Bobby, but when she looked through the peephole and saw two police officers standing outside, she was startled.

Could it be that Emily Clark found out about her and Bobby?

Did Emily bring the police to confront her?

That couldn't be!

"Is Sophia home? You scratched a car in the parking lot earlier, and we need to take you in for questioning!"the police spoke.

Sophia's face turned pale with fright. She didn't dare open the door and quickly called her brother for help.

Meanwhile, back at Luna's workplace, Joah let her know that there were new developments with the suspect, and she didn't need to tail him anymore. She could go back to the STF.

Luna sighed  in relief and was about to say goodbye to Joah when she suddenly heard an argument coming from the main office.

Luna and Joah rushed back, only to see Warren glaring at Paul with a red face, while Paul looked indifferent

"What's going on? Why are you arguing here?"Joah asked coldly.

Luna stood next to Warren, signaling him to calm down with her eyes.

"Warren, this is the office. Calm down."

"Joah, Luna, He tossed the papers I left on my desk 'cause he thought they were garbage. I wasted my whole morning looking for them and only found out what happened when I checked the security footage.. He was right there the whole time and didn't say a word! Do you know how much time was wasted?"

Warren wasn't usually impulsive or quick to anger. But those documents were important, and Paul's indifferent attitude had infuriated him.

"If they were so important, why didn't you lock 'em up? You left 'em out, so I figured they were garbage and tossed 'em! How's that on me?"?"

Paul's attitude was nonchalant. Even with Joah present, he didn't seem to care.
