Chapter 21 Causing Trouble at the Police Station
When Mike saw Luna, his first reaction was to turn around and walk away quickly.
Mr. Lee and Luna were secretly married and no one knew about it.
Especially Mr. Lee's identity, Luna must not find out.
Luna didn't see Mike, and even if she did, she wouldn't recognize him.
She and Warren followed the others into the auction hall, sitting towards the back, just one row behind the suspect.
"I didn't expect Charles to come. I heard he just got back to Bright City and immediately attended the banquet. He's just as rumored, a workaholic," Warren whispered, glancing at Charles, who was being ushered into the hall.
Warren came from a well-off family and his parents were highly educated professionals.
Years ago, the Blackwood family purchased four city-center houses, a villa, and townhouses in the suburbs. With a net worth nearing ten million dollars, they were among the wealthy elite of Bright City.
However, it was nothing compared to the Lee Group.
Warren wasn't gossiping; his mother, dissatisfied with their middle-class status and eager to climb the social ladder, often talked about the richest family in Bright City, the Lees. As a result, Warren had heard a lot about them.
"Charles?" Luna frowned at the name.
The name was the same as that arrogant and picky guy.
"Isn't this Mr. Lee in his forties or fifties?" Luna asked casually.
"He's not even thirty yet! He was young and promising! He was groomed to be the successor of the Lee Group from a very young age."
"That's quite young," Luna said, not connecting the Charles Warren mentioned with her husband, whom she had mistaken for someone else and married by mistake.
After all, what kind of wealthy heir would live in a mid-range neighborhood and drive a car worth only tens of thousands of dollars?
This wasn't a novel or a soap opera!
On Charles's side, since the auction hadn't started yet, he was handling some documents in the lounge.
After exchanging a few words with Mike, Max quickly entered.
"Mr. Lee, Mike saw Luna arriving with the man from the police station this afternoon. They are also here for the auction."
As Max finished speaking, Charles threw his pen aside and frowned at him.
’Why is she everywhere?‘
’What is Luna doing here?‘
’Hunting for a rich husband?‘
’She really is restless!‘Charles thought.
Charles picked up his phone to call Luna, but her phone was off.
Charles sneered.
Was she afraid of being disturbed while on a date?
"Go find out who that man is!"
Charles's face was stern. He had agreed to give Luna a month to get to know each other because he didn't want a second marriage. But during this period, if Luna was involved with another man, he would not hesitate to kick her out.
During their marriage, he would not date other women, and he wouldn't allow her to have similar issues.
Max went out for a while and then came back.
He had a photo of Warren on his tablet, but there was very little information.
A thought flashed through Charles's mind, and he had Max pull up the surveillance footage facing Luna and Warren. They happened to see Luna casually touching her earlobe while her eyes were fixed on a middle-aged man diagonally in front of her.
Warren's gaze was also sharply focused on the back of that middle-aged man.
"Warren? The one whose father is a biologist?" Charles had some impression of the Blackwood family.
Warren's father was a well-known biologist in Bright City and a special consultant for a project at the Lee Group.
Max nodded.
"Mr. Lee, you have a great memory. That's him. But strangely, we can't find any information on Warren from the past year."
"No need to check. I understand."
Charles waved his hand, his gaze towards Luna still indifferent and calm.
