Chapter 93 Luna Was My Wife

When Charles was about to speak, Luna jumped in first.

"Mr. Lee, about that agreement we talked about earlier, I've been mulling it over on my way back. I get it if you think I'm after your money, especially since we've only known each other for a few days."

"I'll sign the agreement. I understand you want to protect your assets. I've been burned before because I didn't have something like that in place."

Luna was thinking about the money her aunt had swindled from her.

Back when her parents were alive, her family was pretty average, but she and Eric grew up in a loving home.

Her parents never played favorites. In fact, they doted on her a bit more. They never made her give in to her brother, and both kids got their fair share of treats.

Her dad was an engineer with a steady job. Her mom, whose business wasn't doing great, stayed home for a while. Her dad never held it against her. Her mom took on a lot of craft work, and her dad would help out after work. They were a hardworking but happy family.

So, Luna never thought her relatives would hurt her. She believed that blood ties meant love and trust, just like her parents had shown her.

But reality hit hard. Some people just can't resist the lure of money.

After her parents died, Luna had to grow up fast.

Charles was moved by her words.

He replied, "I was wrong too. I shouldn't have forced my ways on you. Your attitude wasn't great, but I get it now. I shouldn't have dragged Max into it."

Charles never thought he'd apologize.

To a woman he'd known for just a few days, admitting his faults.

For twenty-eight years, his life had been smooth sailing. His challenges were all business-related, and he had his family's support. Life had never really tested him.

When he decided to try this superficial relationship with Luna, he judged her by his own standards.

But with Eric, he could be lenient and show favoritism.

He'd been biased against Luna from the start, which wasn't fair.

Luna waved her hand. "Let's call it settled and not bring it up again. But it shouldn't happen again! Let's try to sort out our issues between ourselves."

Luna was neither humble nor pushy, and she didn't make any demands.

If she had asked to add something to the agreement now, Charles would have agreed.

But she didn't say a word.

"Alright, I'll listen to you. And I won't mention you hanging up on me today, but don't let it happen again."

Charles said as he put down his coat and walked back to the living room.

Luna frowned and explained, "Mr. Lee, I hung up on you today because I was gathering evidence at my grandmother's old neighbor's house. It wasn't a good time to talk. I answered Eric's call because I was worried about his health."

Charles accepted her explanation. He had misunderstood! This made him feel a lot better.

"What evidence are you gathering?" Charles asked, wanting to help.

Luna sighed. "Honestly, I suspect my dad wasn't my grandmother's biological son. That's why she didn't ask for burial expenses and compensation. When my parents died, my biological grandmother's side must have said something, so my grandmother didn't dare to ask."

"If I want to fight back online, I need solid proof. Only with the truth can I release the recording of Ella wanting me to marry Ethan and all that evidence. Then everyone will see how disgusting and shameless Ella and Alice's schemes are!"

Charles got it.

He hadn't expected this twist.

He meditated, 'Her cousin wants to marry her? No way! Luna is my wife!'
