Chapter 179 Who Dares?!

Luna had long known Ethan and his crew were beyond saving.

Ella, hearing Luna mention her son, was about to lose it. But thinking of Ethan's future, she swallowed her anger and pleaded. "Luna, you used to love the bananas I bought. I got 1.8 pounds just for you today. Please, try them. I remember what you like. You can't just cut me off over a few bad incidents."

Ella tried to shove the blackened bananas into Luna's hands.

Luna stepped back, refusing.

"It's not that I like bananas. You always bring them when they're about to rot. If I don't eat them, you call me picky, and say that my in-laws will look down on me."

"I ate them to avoid your nagging. Then you'd complain about how expensive fruit is and that I ate a whole banana in one go." Luna exposed Ella's intentions.

But Ella, persistent as ever, moved closer.

"Luna, what do you like? I'll buy it now. Just do me a favor. Please draft a statement for Ethan to refute the online allegations, saying he's not who they think and that you misjudged him."

"Say Ethan is upright, never been in a relationship, and is very kind. If you don't know what to say, I have it written down. Just read it." Ella said as she handed Luna a piece of paper.

Luna glanced at it coldly, recognizing Ethan's handwriting.

Ethan caused the trouble and now needed his mom to fix it. Typical Ethan.

Ella was desperate. If she didn't help Ethan soon, he'd disown her.

"Why should I care about Ethan? Haven't I given him enough chances? I know he hired FoodieFusion to spread false rumors about me living with a thug! So why should I help him? Because he's shameless?" Luna finished, and Ella, furious, lunged at her.

"Who dares?!" A stern voice startled Ella, making her pull back.

A tall figure appeared in front of Luna.

Luna saw Charles. Before she could speak, he blocked her completely.

"Who are you? Luna's thug boyfriend?" Ella looked at Charles. His glare deflated her instantly.

'How can this young man have such a terrifying gaze?' Ella thought.

Charles ignored her. She wasn't worth his time.

Luna whispered from behind Charles, "I'm fine. It's okay."

Seeing Charles, Luna felt he was there to back her up. Even without words, she felt it.

Charles turned to her, his eyes firm and composed.

"It's not about whether you suffered. They don't deserve your time."

Hearing his words, Ella and Alice trembled with anger.

Just as they were about to explode, Luna agreed, "You're right."

Charles grunted. "Then why are we still here? I'm taking you to lunch. Tonight, let's go to a buffet with Eric."

His tone was calm and natural with Luna, unlike the cold look he gave Ella and Alice.
