Chapter 51 Evelyn Nelson
The driver of the black vehicle got out and started spewing profanities.
Evelyn frowned, wanting nothing to do with them. She pulled out her phone to call for backup – family.
"What? You want to call for backup? Let me tell you. I don't have time for your nonsense! Let's settle this privately! Ten thousand dollars!"
Then he snatched Evelyn's phone.
Seeing this, Luna crossed the street and walked over.
"Give her phone back! Or I'll take you to the police station right now!"
As Luna spoke, she put on her badge.
The lead driver initially looked down on Luna, seeing that she was alone, but his expression changed drastically when he saw her badge.
"So what if you're a cop? Does being a cop mean you can just scare people?"
The driver was defiant.
He was also driving a luxury car worth over a million ! It wasn't any worse than that sports car! Plus, he had connections and wasn't afraid of not being able to handle this!
"Calm down! There's no need to get aggressive. Look, I'm saying I have it on camera – both my phone and her dashcam show you reversing into me. Let's just deal with this calmly.!"
As Luna spoke, she swiftly took Evelyn's phone from the driver's hand and returned it to her.
"Call your insurance company and your family to come and get you."Luna gently reassured Evelyn.
Evelyn looked at her gratefully and said softly, "Thank you, my name is Evelyn Nelson. Nice to meet you."
As she spoke, Evelyn extended her hand to Luna.
She remained calm and wasn't frightened.
Luna shook her hand and nodded at her.
The driver, seeing the arriving police, flew into a rage. Extortion was out, and compensation looked likely.
He pointed at Evelyn and said, "Speak! Who's backing you? Who's protecting you? Maybe if he saw me, he might have to respect me."
"What are you doing? Threatening the victim in front of a cop?" Luna shouted angrily.
The driver glanced at her badge and sneered, "STF?You are only responsible for lost cats and dogs and escorting lost elderly and children home! You call yourself a cop?!"
The driver's accomplices also burst into laughter.
These people were utterly arrogant.
Just as Luna was about to speak, Evelyn opened the car door and stepped out.
Dressed in a princess dress, Evelyn looked soft and delicate, but she fearlessly walked up to the driver.
"Why isn't she a cop? Try provoking her again? My lawyer is on the way! Let's see who can't handle it then!"
"With that attitude? Please. You think you can be the big shot of the Nelesons? Dream on."
Evelyn's voice remained gentle and soft, but her presence was commanding.
The driver blinked, sensing something was wrong.
The Nelson family, one of the four major families in Bright City?
"You... who are you?" The driver hesitantly looked at Evelyn.
"Who I am is none of your business! Just remember, you've messed with the Nelson family now!"
As Evelyn finished speaking, several black cars arrived almost simultaneously.
"Miss, my lawyer and family are here. Thank you."
Evelyn was immensely grateful to Luna.
Otherwise, she wouldn't have even had the chance to make a call.
Seeing her family had arrived, Luna felt relieved. She saw Summer's car across the street and said goodbye to Evelyn.
"My friend is here to pick me up. If you need a witness, go to the STF station at the intersection and look for Luna."
"Luna? That's a beautiful name."
Evelyn gave Luna a sweet smile.
Luna waved and got into Summer's car.
Inside the car, Summer looked at Evelyn, who was waving at Luna, and said thoughtfully, "How do you know her?"
