Chapter 228 You Scumbag!

Emily didn't want Bobby to misunderstand that it was Danniel who wouldn't let her leave. The other party had good intentions, and since she knew that, she proactively offered compensation, not wanting to disappoint a good person.

Otherwise, who would be willing to help others in the future?

"Bobby, I'm calmly telling you now, the child isn't just mine. You're a father, and you need to take on the responsibility of a father."

"Ugh! You have the nerve to lecture me! It's clearly your poor care! Who's to blame? If you can't take care of Tommy, you should take responsibility! Why didn't he get a fever when I was taking care of him? It's because you're stupid! You're dumb! Who knows where your mind was when you were taking care of Tommy!"

Bobby's twisted logic was something his parents often said to him.

His parents often said that Emily was both stupid and dumb. She used to look okay, but now she's as fat as a pig and totally unworthy of him.

She didn't have a good job, had fallen out with her family, and was completely useless. The only thing she did was give birth to Tommy, so she should take care of him. They didn't need to get involved since she had nothing else to do anyway.

Bobby was different. He had a house in a good school district, even though it was an old neighborhood, it was still in the city center. He also had a decent job now. Emily should be humble and take good care of their son.

"Bobby! Look into your conscience and tell me, since Tommy was born, how many days have you taken care of him? Altogether, not even a day! I am indeed stupid and dumb! Otherwise, I wouldn't have married a scumbag like you!"

Smack!

Emily hung up the phone hard.

Her chest was still heaving violently, and Tommy in her arms moved uneasily. Emily looked at Tommy, and tears almost fell.

She looked at her mother's phone number but didn't dial it. Instead, she called Summer.

Summer's phone was on silent while she was in the shower and didn't hear it, so Emily called Luna.

"Luna, I'm in a bit of trouble. Can I borrow $2,500 from you for an emergency?"

Emily wouldn't ask Luna to borrow money unless she had no other choice.

Because she knew Luna's situation wasn't much better.

Danniel was about to drive away.

Earlier, when Emily and Bobby were arguing on the phone, Danniel was annoyed and didn't want to get involved. But as he was about to start the car, he heard Luna's name.

This name was quite rare.

Danniel immediately sent a text to Charles.

"Does Luna have a female friend with a one-year-old child named Tommy?"

Danniel didn't know Emily's name, but he remembered the name "Tommy" from when she was comforting the child.

Charles quickly replied.

"Is her name Emily? She's Luna's college friend, like a sister to her. Do you know her too?"

Charles also remembered Tommy, mainly because Luna had mentioned that she and Summer were Tommy's godmothers and kept praising how adorable Tommy was.

"I ran into Emily on the road, holding her sick child and trying to catch a cab. She almost ran into my car. I brought her to the hospital, but my tire got punctured. She wanted to compensate me for the tire, called her husband for money, but they ended up arguing. I heard her asking Luna to borrow money, and I thought it was unlikely for there to be another Luna."

Danniel didn't expect the world to be so small.

Luna had such a deep connection with the Lee family.

Even her friend could be encountered in such a way.

Charles replied to Danniel again.

"I've heard Luna mention that Emily's husband is a douchebag and used to abuse her. Emily is probably gathering evidence to prepare for a divorce, mainly involving some renovation money and car money, so she can't leave immediately."

"Alright, got it. She should have borrowed the money from Luna. You can check with Luna when you have time."

After sending the message, Danniel put away his phone. Emily, with red-rimmed eyes, turned to look at him, trying hard to force a smile, but it looked worse than crying.
