If Alice hadn't brought up Eric, Luna wouldn't be so mad. She already saw them as strangers.

"Mrs. Alice Brown! If you're hungry, go find something to eat on your own! Leave me alone! My money's for my brother's medical bills! And don't worry about Eric; I'll take care of him myself!"
"When I bought special meds for Eric, you said it was a waste! Back then, I still called you grandma and didn't cut ties! My biggest regret is not cutting you off sooner!"
"You're only here because Ethan and FoodieFusion failed to smear me online! Frustrated you couldn't dig up dirt on my husband, now you want the compensation for my parents' old house. Let me tell you, no matter the amount, it belongs to Eric and me. You won't get a penny!" Luna said.
Luna laid out all of Alice's schemes.
Alice's lips trembled, and she shook with anger.
"You... what are you saying? Trying to drive me crazy? Even if your dad isn't my biological son, I still deserve a share of the old house compensation! Did I raise him for nothing?"
"You got married without a word! I haven't even seen my grandson-in-law! I'm your family! You should at least tell me how much wedding gifts you got! In Bright City, wedding gifts are at least ten to twenty thousand dollars."
"Does your husband have a house? Is your name on it? If it is, keeping the old house isn't useful. I can help renovate it and live there first. If you and Eric want to come back, you can stay anytime!"
"I'm saying this for your own good! If you don't ask for more wedding gifts or get your name on the property certificate, you'll end up with nothing if you divorce! You'll regret it!"
"If you're not comfortable asking, I can do it for you! Even if you're already registered, it's not too late! I can go to your in-laws' house every day if needed! I'll get it for you!" Alice said.
Alice noticed Luna wasn't wearing any gold jewelry and guessed she hadn't received anything. She cursed Luna for not extorting her in-laws during the wedding.
Luna barely listened and responded with a smile, arms crossed.
"Why should my parents' compensation include you? You agreed any of my dad's future assets wouldn't involve you, and my real grandmother wouldn't benefit either. I have the agreement as proof."
"You signed that agreement because you thought my dad wouldn't do better than your own kids. You didn't want to invest in him! Now you regret it? Why should I pay for your schemes and regrets?"
"Who I marry is my business! Now you want me to ask for wedding gifts? When your daughter and grandson schemed against me, why didn't you ask them to give me wedding gifts? Why didn't you ask them to put my name on the property certificate? Where do you get the nerve to talk about wedding gifts now?"
"The compensation house belongs to Eric and me. We don't need you to arrange it! I don't need you to look out for me! Just stay out of my way!"
"And don't say I didn't warn you: Ethan and FoodieFusion are constantly skirting the law. If they keep it up, they'll face legal consequences sooner or later!" Luna said.
