Chapter 24 Going to Buy a Telescope

Eric worked hard to learn life skills because he didn't want Luna to be too tired.

Ella was stingy and calculative with him, but she didn't mistreat him.

This was also the reason he could persist until now.

Charles walked out of the bathroom, his shirt sleeves rolled halfway up, and looked at Eric with a gentle and reserved gaze.

When he thought that  Luna also carried Eric downstairs today and then had to come back to get the wheelchair, she wasn't entirely without merits.

At least she was responsible for Eric.

But that was her only merit!

As for Luna, she returned to the team after the dinner party.

The meeting ended at midnight. Fortunately, she had informed Sandra in advance that she might have to work overnight.

As she walked out the door, a cold wind blew, making Luna shiver.

Warren immediately took off his coat and draped it over her.

"Warren, it's okay."

Luna felt embarrassed and tried to return it to him.

"Luna, if you catch a cold and miss your gathering with Summer next week, she will..."

Warren made a throat-slitting gesture.

Luna burst into laughter.

Summer was Warren's nemesis.

"Emily is coming back next week, and the three of us can finally get together. This gathering is rare."Luna said.

The Emily Luna mentioned was Emily Clark, also a college friend like Summer.

However, Emily got married young and was coming back with her husband and their one-year-old son to visit her family.

"Luna, can't I join your gathering?"

With a half-playful tone, Warren's sunny and handsome features carried no sense of discord.

"How can we bring you to our girls' gathering? Even Summer doesn't bring you, how could I? You should hang out with your buddies! Or find a girlfriend."

Warren quickly clarified, "I don't have a girlfriend!"

Luna said, "Then find one!"

"I can't find one!"

Warren responded quickly.

In fact, he didn't want to find one.

Because the one he wanted was right in front of him.

"Then take your time to find one. I'm going to catch a cab home."

Luna hailed a taxi and prepared to get in.

"Luna, let me take you home and treat you to a late-night snack."

Worried about her going back alone, Warren  wanted to spend more time with her.

"It's midnight. I need to go back to pick up Eric. You should rest early too. We have tasks tomorrow."

She waved at Warren and got into the cab.

Although Warren was disappointed, he didn't insist. He noted the taxi's license plate and only got into his car after the taxi disappeared from sight.

When Luna arrived at Mountain Vista Gardens, she got out and ran towards the Cafe.

The store was indeed closed, and Sandra's phone number was on the door. She called, but it was turned off.

In the end, she had no choice but to call Charles.

The phone rang several times before it was answered, and before Luna could speak, Charles's cold and indifferent voice came through.

"Do you finally remember to come back? Do you remember you have a brother to take care of?"

Charles hung up before Luna could respond.

Luna was left bewildered by the scolding.

Why did Charles's tone sound so resentful?

But knowing Eric was home, she felt relieved.

Luna went upstairs and tried to unlock the door with her key, but it was locked from the inside.

Luna laughed in exasperation.

Was Charles acting like the evil stepmother from Cinderella, locking the door after midnight?

With no other choice, Luna knocked on the door.

After several knocks, footsteps were heard from inside. Charles opened the door while drying his hair, his pajamas half-open, and his hair still dripping.

His honey-colored chest was firm and toned.

His chest muscles were faintly visible.

Fortunately, he was still wearing lounge pants.

Both Luna outside and Charles inside were stunned when they saw each other.

One was shocked, the other was embarrassed!
