Chapter 238 Not a Single Good Thing
Charles started the car, pretending to be nonchalant, not wanting to continue the previous conversation.
As the car turned out of the parking lot, neither of them noticed Warren sitting in the car opposite.
Warren lit a cigarette, took a deep drag, and opened the car window to look at the parking lot exit.
The young and defiant face now showed traces of loneliness and jealousy.
He had been forced into a blind date today and found an opportunity to leave early. Who knew that as soon as he got into the car, he saw Luna walking towards him. He thought he and Luna were destined to meet, but Luna walked straight to Charles's car.
They were chatting and laughing in the car. Luna even raised her hand twice to check Charles's forehead, and Charles finally hugged Luna.
That hug made Warren's eyes ache.
He felt a surge of frustration, bitterness, and had no outlet to vent.
The phone beside him rang. Warren glanced at it, not wanting to answer.
But the phone kept ringing; he knew Selina's persistence too well. If he didn't answer, she would keep calling.
"Mom, what's up?" Warren answered, sounding listless.
"What's up? You left in the middle of the meal, leaving me and Spencer with the other family! What do you think they thought? Now they've left too! Are you satisfied?"
Selina bombarded him, but Warren let it go in one ear and out the other.
"Mom, didn't I tell you? I have someone I like."
Warren stubbed out the cigarette, his voice hoarse.
"Don't give me that! Don't think I don't know you're just brushing me off! But let me be clear, if the girl you find has an ordinary background and needs our family's support, she can forget about entering the Blackwood family!
Her parents must at least be highly educated, like your father and me, a lawyer and a professor. That's what I call a strong match."
Selina was afraid Warren would bring home someone unsuitable.
If the family needed the Blackwood family's support or had a bunch of relatives from the countryside, it would lower their living standards and social status.
"Mom, actually, the person I like is a man."
To end the call quickly, Warren blurted out.
On the other end, Selina, who had been chattering nonstop, fell silent instantly.
After a few seconds, Selina started crying angrily on the phone.
"You brat! How dare you! Do you believe I'll cut ties with you? Neither of you gives me any peace!
Summer deliberately knocked over a champagne tower worth tens of thousands at the Nelson family banquet! And now you're threatening me with liking men! Do you think your mother, as a lawyer, can easily be fooled by you? Neither of you is any good!"
Warren hung up the phone.
Selina had finished scolding and venting her anger; she wouldn't call him again today.
Warren reclined the seat and lay in the car, the scene of Charles hugging Luna flashing before his eyes.
He felt like he was going mad with jealousy.
The next morning, Luna clocked in at the police station.
After working for a while, someone came in to file a report.
Seeing the person, Luna's face instantly darkened.
Ava Silva, beside her, noticed her expression and whispered, "Who are they? Do you know them?"
Luna snorted coldly, "That's Alice and Ella, and now there's a Lisa too."
After Luna spoke, Ava pursed her lips. The Brown family had a notorious reputation online, yet they still hadn't apologized. How did they have the nerve to come to Luna?
"Luna, what kind of attitude is this? You don't even greet your grandmother? I left home early without breakfast! Is this how you treat your elders?"
