Chapter 137 You're Not Normal
Mark still couldn't wrap his head around it. His hands were still shaking as he adjusted his glasses.
If Henry knew who the boss really was, he would be kicking himself!
Mark finally got why Isaac handed some projects to that tiny company, the Martinez Group. It was all because of Adeline!
Mark clutched his glasses and stammered, "Boss, you..."
"Looks like you figured it out," Adeline said with a grin.
Mark quickly added, "Back at the Martinez Mansion, I had no clue it was you. If I had known, I would've definitely..."
"I didn't want anyone to know," Adeline said, fiddling with her teacup. "You did the right thing."
Jason was puzzled. "The Martinez Mansion? What's that got to do with anything?"
Mark lowered his gaze. "Mr. Bailey, I'll fill you in later."
Jason brushed it off. He was focused on one thing. "Let's head back to Zelphoria right now! I'm so pumped!"
"I can't leave just yet." Adeline chuckled. "As you can see, my business is just getting off the ground."
Jason was taken aback.
"Then I'll stay and help you out," Jason, who was a big fan of Adeline, said. "You're trying to make a killing online, right? I knew it!"
Adeline said slowly, "You're overthinking it. I'm just a simple witch doctor."
"Then I'll invest in pharmaceuticals!" Jason was dead set on staying. "It's been ages since we did business together. The market in Eldoria is booming. If you want to open a store, I'll invest!"
Adeline hadn't even responded yet.
A light cough came from the other side. "Adeline, who are you talking to?"
"Grandma, you're awake." Adeline saw Summer coming out and immediately went to support her, her smile unchanged. "It's a big boss who saw us online and thinks the Lumina Vitae Foundation has potential. He wants to invest in us."
Summer, who was sophisticated, said, "Is there really such a good thing?"
Jason immediately said, "The Lumina Vitae Foundation's popularity is skyrocketing online. Now's the perfect time to collaborate. Later on, I might have to pay a high price."
Summer looked him over, from his big gold chain to Mark. "He does seem like a reliable person."
Mark, wearing glasses, looked scholarly. "He is our boss."
Summer laughed: "I know, but how are we going to discuss this investment? You've seen our store; it's small and the storefront is narrow. Your boss looks like someone not to be trifled with. I'm not afraid, but Adeline has been obedient and soft-hearted since she was a child. If something goes wrong in the collaboration, how can she stand up to your boss?"
Jason thought he must have heard wrong.
Those words together were truly terrifying!
Jason now wished he looked like Isaac. He said with a low posture, "Don't worry. I will never treat her unfairly!"
But Summer shook her head. "You're not normal. What kind of investor is so easy to talk to?"
Indeed, Jason was practically throwing money at them.
Summer pointed to a slogan on the wall. "The anti-fraud center always says, there's no such thing as a free lunch!"
