Chapter 92 Similar Appearance
Nathan didn't take Adeline to the nearby hospital. Instead, he drove straight to the Caesar Hotel downtown.
The roads were packed, and traffic was a nightmare.
Nathan kept craning his neck, clearly stressed about the delay.
Adeline, sitting in the back, stayed calm. "Don't stress. Just tell me about the patient's symptoms."
"I can't really pinpoint it. She just fainted out of nowhere, and I haven't seen her myself," Nathan said, glancing at the driver before lowering his voice. "She's been frail since she was a kid and has a history of anemia. She's an adopted daughter of the Vanderbilt Family. She looks a lot like Ms. Vanderbilt, so Mr. Vanderbilt treats her like his own granddaughter. Be careful when you go in."
Adeline shrugged. "Didn't Savannah go missing when she was young? How can you be sure they look alike?"
Nathan sighed. "There are childhood photos. She was found among trafficked kids. I was there when we found her. Mr. Vanderbilt saw the resemblance to Ms. Vanderbilt's photos right away. But the DNA test didn't match, and it broke his heart."
Adeline nodded. "Got it."
She wasn't too interested in the Vanderbilt Family drama.
What really caught her attention was the sudden fainting.
'Every illness has symptoms. As for the sudden fainting... well, we'll see when we get there.'
She had to save face for Nathan.
In the hotel's restaurant, a well-dressed woman carrying a bag walked in. She stood by the door, letting a young girl behind her enter first.
The girl wore a custom-made white gown. Her face was pale, probably from lack of sunlight, making her look delicate. She had a limited-edition crystal necklace around her neck.
Her slender arms and delicate appearance screamed wealth.
The moment she walked in, everyone turned to look.
Even the notable figures in Eldoria hadn't seen such a stylish and elegant lady before.
The chef performed a hand-kissing gesture, his lips not daring to touch her hand. "It is my honor to serve you."
"Could that be Ms. Vanderbilt?"
"Which one?"
"The one from Zelphoria, the richest of the rich. Who else from the Vanderbilt Family could make the head chef of the Caesar Hotel personally greet them? You know the Caesar Hotel is owned by the Livingston family."
"Oh my God!"
The women having afternoon tea gasped and lowered their voices.
The girl seemed to have everything they envied: diamonds, designer bags, and most importantly, the aura of being adored.
Angela, noticing the whispers, asked, "Isn't the Vanderbilt Family known for having only male heirs for generations?"
After the Cooper family incident, fewer people had invited Angela to play cards lately. Everyone was avoiding her, and the cold shoulder from the circle was obvious.
Today's outing was only because Angela had thick-skinnedly invited them out.
One woman, not wanting to engage with Angela but mindful of the Jones family's status in Zelphoria, lazily replied, "The Vanderbilt Family has a granddaughter, but she went missing when she was young. This one is adopted, named Holly Vanderbilt, and she's been doted on immensely. You better not ask around carelessly; you might offend someone."
